Phillip Glass has really lost it.

hahahaha

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-09-14

Strange that you chose not to use a bullet hell tag.

jangbones - 2011-09-14

Japasberger - also appropriate

I thought games were supposed to be entertaining on some level

poorwill - 2011-09-14

Almost makes me appreciate Cave games. Almost.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-09-14

Oh, man. The Japanese nerds are going to laugh at us for this.

Void 71 - 2011-09-14

Double the speed, put a new coat of paint on it and you have every Cave shooter ever made. Bullethell shooters are fucking horrible, but hardcore shooter fans eat them up for some reason.

Riskbreaker - 2011-09-14

Basically, if you mix moe with millions of huge pink bright bullets, you hit jackpot with most of these hardcore shooter fans.

Udderdude - 2011-09-14

This is actually more akin to Touhou's bland version of bullet hell, where there's a zillion bullets but they all move like molasses.

StanleyPain - 2011-09-14

In other words, a genre of game specifically made for a specific audience, caters to that audience? HOLY SHIT..

blue vein steel - 2011-09-14

yeah, it's like complaining that a Pride of Nations style strategy game is boring

Void 71 - 2011-09-14

Pride of Nations is a traditional turn-based strategy game, though. It would be like if a shooter developer put out a new game that played like R-Type. Hardcore schmup fans wouldn't buy it because they don't like traditional memorization shooters. Level design doesn't interest them. They want a box filled with a shitload of bullets and they want it from a vertical perspective. In other words, they want this game with better graphics.

sosage - 2011-09-14

I like dodging pink and blue circles and I like to not have to memorize my way through every encounter. Are shmup fans the new thing to hate at POETV? Just checking so I can deny being a fan later on when it isn't cool.

P.S. Speaking of R-Type and strategy games:

Riskbreaker - 2011-09-14

Just moe bullet hell, for that matter old school shooter fans are equally annoying. The ones i met at least.

FABIO - 2011-09-14

There's a point in shooters where on screen stuff goes from "holy shit" to "really fucking boring inching around this tiny safe zone".

poorwill - 2011-09-14

I like a bunch of shmups, but most bullet hell games are bottom of the barrel stuff. They promise a lot in terms of gameplay but squander it with rigidity. It's very inbred genre now that caters to all the worst desires of the few people left who care. Snake eating its own shit. Shitbourous.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-09-15

Sometimes I think you people just choose random things to whine about just for the sake of whining.

Sudan no1 - 2011-09-15

POE just calls it like it is, 'Nanty.

This fad's done, or it should be. Otakus need to find a new simplistic game genre to glue Moeshit onto. I'm rooting for MOBAs.

Old_Zircon - 2011-09-14

This reminds me of a game a friend of mine made on his Amiga when he was 12, except his was a joke and had better graphics.

Old_Zircon - 2011-09-14

Kickstarter needs to be a linked tag ASAP.

hammsangwich - 2011-09-14

I'd rather just play Super R-Type.

Chalkdust - 2012-01-08

this is less 'bullet hell' and more 'bullet dang'
