This is sublime until 1974, after which point everything is terrible and sung in English. Guess who won in 1974.
Also: is it me, or is it the most astonishingly revealing thing in the whole world that Israel competes in this? The Crusader Kingdom indeed.

The popularity of Eurovision continually mystifies me.

How the hell did French-Canadian Celine Dion get to represent Switzerland in 1988?

Also, how the hell did Katrina and the Waves get to represent England in 1997, 13 years after their international hit "Walking on Sunshine"? I thought Eurovision was only for "up and coming" acts.

EvilHomer - 2013-04-09 That's what I thought, too, but Cascada is representing Germany this year so who the hell knows.

EvilHomer - 2013-04-10 Yeah, Greece is pretty awesome this year. Balkan folk-ska-punk bands are always really fun, even if they never make it past the semi-finals.
As a closet raver, I'm actually looking forward to a lot of the dubstep and house/techno acts this year (my guess is that Ireland will win; not because theirs is the best song mind you, but because, if you watch their official music video, it's clear that the dude is a globalist-Illuminati plant) One of my all time favorite loser acts, Bulgaria's Elitsa & Stoyan, are coming back too, so that's cool. The song they're doing isn't as good as the one from 07, but it's nice to see them back again regardless.
