Beginning in the mid 70s, the earth passed through the tail of the time vortex, leading to almost two whole decades of time travel movies. The peak was in the 80's, centered around large American cities, where astronauts from the future, and wizards from other dimensions, often found themselves fighting.

"There's no way that's completely painful, there must be a measure of pleasure being transformed as she didn't start sweating until the panther was taken away. And just listen to her moan......."

If I remember the movie correctly, she had been drugged. Zach Galligan's character (the guy spying on the ritual) was trying to rescue her.

See, in the previous movie, they had been in a wax museum where the exhibits came to life and killed people. They Both escaped, but she was followed home by a zombie hand which stabbed her abusive father to death. She was accused of the crime and since the zombie hand had been destroyed, she and the guy had to use magic to find another zombie hand and somehow wound up opening a portal through time.

"The Waxwork" movies are a whole lot of fun. Watch them if you can find them.

I went looking for this movie when that video of the horrifying cat mask in the hopper reminded me of this scene.
