I'm currently reading The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan, and he spends a lot of time talking about sleep paralysis as an explanation for a lot of paranormal phenomena, including alien abduction. It's pretty interesting.
Once, I had a sleep paralysis experience in which I saw a green and black fog appear next to my bed, develop vague facial features, and stare down at me for a while. When I was finally able to move, of course it disappeared. I'm very glad that I live in a time when there is a scientific explanation for this kind of stuff, rather than demons etc.

gravelstudios - 2014-04-05 I've had a few others, but usually nothing odd happens and I just lie there waiting until I can move again so I can take a deep breath, roll over, and go back to sleep. I've seen hazy shapes and shadows that a less skeptical person would describe as 'ghosts', but the fog is the one I remember the best and most vividly.

Juvenile, artsy little waste of time.
