When this game is done, I hope he makes a fortune on it in a way that doesn't involve the majority of the Internet descending on him like starving vultures with cameras to try and cash in (moreso) on his likeability and dedication as a replacement for their own.

I'm not really sold on his rationale for locking the resolution. If graphics degradation through scaling is such a big deal, then why not just make it native to 1920x1080? It's much easier to scale the graphics down from there than to scale them up. Moreover, U says the game will be released in three to eight years. By this time, 4K displays may well be standard, if not outdated; allowing players to run the game in 1920x1080 might be the bare minimum courtesy you could give them! I'd hate to see him pull a Duke Nukem and cause even more delays for failing to anticipate hardware advances.

I watched this all the way through. I think you should too, if you can. It's more entertaining than you would think, and it gives you a look into his weird and wonderful brain.
