MEMRI is a propaganda outfit, and I have had cause to question the accuracy of their translations in the past. It is possible to create an "accurate" translation that significantly changes the meaning of what's being said.

Hamas hides a bunch of explosives near children and hospitals because their sole purpose is to provoke Israel to fight.

Israeli rightwingers use the paranoia to acquire more settlements, remain in power, and gangsterize the highly nepotistic, corrupt government of Israel.

Both benefit, the only difference is that more Palestinians die than Israel in this little deal. Whenever Hamas attacks, it's because they want to produce anti-Israeli sentiment around the world and acquire more recruits and funding.
