I think he would have basically been this century's Calvin Coolidge. Which is to say, a well meaning but terrible and corrupt politician with no real ability to relate to anyone but could emote just enough to get into office.

He got most of his money by fucking people over. That was his business model. "Let's borrow a bunch of money, use that money to perform a hostile takeover, borrow money in that company's name to pay back the original loan, cut staff, cut salary, cut benefits, sell off equipment & facilities, stuff the money in our own pockets and when we can't squeeze another penny out of it, shut it down and declare bankruptcy. Fuck the people working at the company. Fuck the people who loaned the company the money we used to pay back the original loans. Fuck the local economy. Fuck the American tax payers. We made money, that's all that counts."

He was running to be the friend of big business. He was letting them know that if he got in, he would make it easier for them to fuck over their workers and their customers and suck tons of money out of our economy while putting none back into it. And then he had the unmitigated gall to say poor people only voted for Democrats because the Democrats "bribed" them with stuff like food stamps and unemployment insurance.

To Hell with this prick. I don't find him fatherly or charming in any way. What he presents to the public is well-polished fa�ade. Inside, he's nothing but asshole.
