How To Reverse White Population Decline

I am going to list out 5 steps the U.S. can take to not only stop, but reverse the current decline.


1. Stop/Severely Limit Immigration from Non-White/Non-European Nations

The first step is to metaphorically plug up the hole so no more water flows in. The wall must be built. The reasons should be pretty clear to us, but in short we need to be able to control who comes in and out of our country.

We must enforce our laws on the books, and deport people who came here illegally to settle our land. By enforcing our laws, millions of illegal settlers (the vast majority who are non-European), will be forced to go back to the country they came from.

Also, we must completely stop or severely limit non-White immigration to the U.S. We need to emphasize the cold hard reality that our current flood of immigrants is keeping wages down, while also causing rent and housing prices to rise. That current immigration is causing huge social and safety problems, and that we need a break from all immigration until things improve (however we want to define this).

After this break, we can emphasize how we need highly skilled workers who share our values, culture, and our history (and we must be the ones who define what exactly our ‘values, culture, and history’ are.) Such a policy would obviously be heavily in favor of skilled White immigrants from Europe, Canada, and Australia/New Zealand.

This isn’t a hard sell, as all we are doing is presenting the honest facts. If framed and presented correctly, this will be accepted by the vast majority of Americans.

2. We Must Re-Emphasize that the U.S. is a White-European Christian Nation

The culture that we have today is in a full out war against everything that is White-European, Christian, and especially White Male. This open hostility and blatant aggression against White-Europeans must change.
I do believe Trump can be extremely effective in this endeavor. He will have the attention of the nation, and he can point out how...
•A strong traditional family
•Hard work
•Being proud of our nation’s history
•Our Christian roots

...have benefited our nation, are what made our nation great, and that we must return to them if we are to Make America Great Again. He can also point out how...
•Feminism (including the glorification of single motherhood)
•Playing the eternal victim
•Destroying our past and demonizing our history
•Cultural Marxism

...among other things, have been detrimental to our nation. Basically, we need to have a general belief that this is, has always been, and will always be a White Christian Nation and that we will do everything we can as a nation and people to keep it that way.

In setting this as our goal and standard, we can better tackle the problem of the decreasing White population in America, while also attack and replace all the harm that feminism, globalism, and Cultural Marxism have done to our society.

This will also show White people that there is indeed a future for them and their children. White people believing that there is no future in America for them or their children is a massive problem, and this needs to be addressed.


3. We Must Introduce Nationalism and the ‘Ever Present’ Question of: Is This Good for the People?

The current economy does not work for the people. We have an economy where it is almost impossible for young people to move into their own place and start a family, and this is a major reason why marriage and child birth are put off until later in life.

This has a lot to do with our trade deals, immigration, and banking system. A lot of these problems have been discussed by Donald Trump.

It’s very simple. We need an economy where wages are going up, and costs are stagnant and/or decreasing.

I knew the economy was rigged after I asked myself this question: With all the new technological advancements, especially the cellphone, computer, and internet, why hasn’t the cost of almost everything gone down?

The answer is that the system is rigged, in that special interests, the government, and the banks have taken most of the wealth produced from these technological advancements, while everyday people have not benefited from lower costs created from these advancements. That is why our governments, schools, and cultural organizations all need to ask this question first and always: Is this good for the people?

For example: A company wants to move their factory to China in order to increase their shareholder’s profits, while firing thousands of Americans. Is this good for the people?

If not, the government needs to do everything to can to prevent, and punish, companies that harm the people, in order to stop this from happening.

Another example: Certain politicians call for thousands of Muslim settlers (whom they deceptively call ‘refugees’) to be settled in the U.S. Is this good for the people?

If not, the government needs to reject this proposal, and the politicians proposing this legislation need to be held accountable by being called out as traitors and openly trying to work against the interests of the people.

By introducing nationalism and an ‘America First’ policy, our people will see that our government is indeed working for us and our interests. This will help the spirit of our people, as real prospects of a more prosperous future will encourage more young adults to have more children.

This helps combat the arguments “Do I really want to have children in a world where they may struggle and be a target?” or “Can I even afford children with how bad the economy is?”

4. We Need To Incentivize the Correct And Deter the Wrong Population Growth

I believe that when we achieve 1-3, #4 won’t necessarily be an absolute must, but this will further help the White population increase.

We need to incentivize the right people to have children. Ways in which this can be achieved include:

•Loans to new families. For example, the government can give an interest free loan to a new family. If they have 1 child, the loan needs to be paid back 100%. For 2 children, 50% of the loan needs to be re-paid. If 3 or more children, the loan does not need to be paid back. Of course, there can be general qualifies to get the loan in the first place.


•100% tax deductions on health insurance. A major problem in the U.S. is the high cost of health insurance, and this only goes up when you have a family. By allowing people to 100% deduct their health insurance from their taxes, this would be a major cost saver for families.


•Remove no-fault divorce. Marriage is for the children. The excuse that the woman/man is ‘unhappy’ is not enough to allow for divorce, as the children’s interests must take precedent over the wife’s or husband’s. The less ways you give people to get out of a divorce, the harder they will try to make it work. Again, emphasis on the health and well-being of the children.


•Remove and criminalize affirmative action. Affirmative action is blatant discrimination against White people. Right now, it is not only allowed but encouraged by the government and courts. It disallows our best their rightfully earned position and spot--and instead gives the position to others less qualified based solely on their race or religion. This discrimination must end.


We also need to deter births that are currently being encouraged by the wrong type of government incentives.
Ways in which this can be achieved include:

•Remove the incentives for the poor to have children. I am not saying the poor should not have children, but what I am saying is that there is a system in place that encourages the poorest, least capable, and least intelligent to breed--while actively discouraging the most capable and intelligent to have children. This includes housing payments, child payments, food stamps, cash payments etc. Also, any and all people in the U.S. illegally will not and will never be eligible for any ‘welfare’ (see The Truth About Immigration And Welfare).


•Stigmatize and disincentivize single motherhood. Not only can single mothers do well via government payments, but the courts and lawyers are almost always on the side of the single mother. Single mothers are a massive drain not only on our resources, but their children are greatly harmed without the presence of a father. Most children from a single family household grow up with a whole host of problems, including major predisposition towards criminality (see The Truth About Single Moms for a more in-depth look).

•One more thing that needs mention: Pornography must be banned. Pornography has caused massive problems among our youth, and especially our young men. It makes them weak, unmotivated, and docile. It makes it harder for them to find and attract a female. Pornography has been shown to alter brain activity similar to drug and alcohol addicts. It can be extremely addictive and is harmful to our people. It needs to be banned and removed from society as it brings no positive benefits to our people.

5. We Need To Have It Known: We Are Proud Of Our History and We Are Not Guilty

Various elements of the Corporate Media, education, and the government have all come out against our people and our past, e.g. promoting sayings such as ‘America was never great,’ or how our Founding Fathers are referred to as ‘racist old White slaveholders.’

We can see how the Corporate Media and Hollywood constantly portray White men as weak, stupid, and in need of strong female guidance. And how the Corporate Media constantly portrays a strong, independent White woman who can do it all on her own, or with her side-kick/love interest being a strong capable Black male.
These need to stop, and we need to hold those accountable who promote this by ridicule, boycotts, and if possible, legal action.

It must come from the top down that we are:

•Not guilty, but proud for the creation of the United States. That the history of mankind is written by conquest and the strong surviving, and we will not feel guilty for taken an undeveloped land and developing it into the world’s most powerful and advanced country on Earth.


•Aware that slavery did occur--but we are not guilty about it and accept no personal or collective responsibility for the tiny percentage of Whites who had slaves over 150 years ago. We recognize that non-Whites (especially Muslims) enslaved tens of millions of Europeans. We recognize that blacks enslaved their own people, and are the ones that sold their own people to the Europeans. That no other race feels ‘guilt’ for slavery, and that ‘White guilt’ is used as a weapon against White-Europeans to extract resources from them. We recognize that White-Europeans are the ones that ended slavery world wide, and that this should be celebrated and respected.


•A White, European founded nation, with Christian morals and we have a right to remain as such. That former colonized nations such as India, Algeria, and the Philippines were allowed to stay Indian, Algerian, and Filipino--and that we have that same right.


•A people and a nation, and have the right and responsibility to pursue our own interests for our own people, and put ourselves first before foreign people. That means globalism, foreign aid, and foreign intervention take a backseat to the interests of our people, first and foremost. By implementing these 5 steps, we can attack, criticize, and dismantle the current anti-White, anti-European culture we have today.


To Sum Up: It Can Be Done

Consider this: Our current demographic trend, of a perpetually decreasing White population in America, is 100% created by governmental policies put in place. If we change these policies, we can also change the demographics back to what they used to be.

If we can implement all of the above steps, and even achieve a modest .5% increase every year of the percentage of the White population (“non-Hispanic” White), we can achieve the following:
•In 10 years, the White population would be 65% which takes us back to 2005
•In 20 years, return it to 70% of the population which takes us back to 2000
•In 30 years, return it to 75% of the population which takes us back to 1990
•In 40 years, return it to 80% of the population which takes us back to 1980
•In 50 years, return it to 85% of the population which takes us back to 1960

All of you who think we are finished as a majority of the people, and that the U.S. is finished as a White nation, are not (as Donald Trump says) thinking big.

Believe it or not, most non-Whites do see the United States as a White nation. If we would just come out and stake our claim to what is already ours, most non-Whites (except the fringe radicals who are constantly stirred up by the Corporate Media) wouldn’t oppose it. They would recognize that a majority White nation would be in their best interests as well. And the few non-Whites who reject this reality would simply self-deport back to their country of origin, or be arrested for any crimes they commit against our nation.

These 5 steps are by no means all inclusive. However, I believe that if expanded on, and put into place, we not only can stop the decreasing demographics of Whites in America, but in fact increase the White population to its former percentage similar to the 1960s.










American shitlibs love New York, NY. (That’s not what it currently looks like). New York is one of the most diverse and progressive places in the world. They love romanticizing it in fiction, visiting it, going to school there, moving there and drying out their ovaries, and treating the pallette of humanity assembled there like a theme-park-meets-food-court. Wouldn’t it be swell if the whole country could be like this place? Wouldn’t it be grand if everyone were made a stranger in a strange land? *Rubs hands.

One of the popular blackpill—or satirically demoralizing—memes of the Alt-Right is that America is becoming Brazil, a White-minority cesspit of disease, violence, corruption, poverty, and diversity.

Or it will if nothing is done to stop the left. If you take their ideas to their logical end, especially their third-worldism and love of demographic replacement, it’s obvious that the future they will arrive at is a heavily urbanized White-minority society with a strong central government and a political supermajority. Ask any Democrat if they would oppose this. Even if they are uncomfortable with the idea of White minoritization (which only Whites care about), they aren’t going to say it should be stopped, because that would require excluding people from their community and that’s always wrong. So it’s true regardless of whether they state they want it or not, because outcomes are independent from intentions. Their policies will lead to a minority-majority society that is economically and socially left, bureaucratic, and less safe. But something akin to brazilianization has already happened in parts of the United States. The Brazil metaphor, while effective, overlooks this and focuses on an external (and extreme) example of a degenerated society.



To get just a glimpse of what a minoritized America might look like, consider a thought experiment: What if the New York way of life so admired by the left was transposed across the entire United States? What sort of country would this desired New America be? How badly would our Southern readers want to crush the urbanite?

New America would be a one-party state. The New York City Council has 51 seats and 48 of these are held by the Democratic Party. There would be five different caucuses inside the council on the basis of identity politics, but none exclusively for the interests of Whites. The speaker of this council would be an unmarried woman with an STD. Her predecessor would have been a lesbian. The executive branch would be headed by a communist and literal degenerate who won 73% of the vote, a three-fourths supermajority. The election would have a turnout of 24%. In the 2013 New York mayoral election, just over a million out of 4.3 million registered voters participated, from a population of around 8 million people. In other words, little more than 10% of the population would decide elections.

New America would be an ethnically fractured society. Yes, worse than the current one. The ancestry breakdown would be as follows: 28.6% Hispanic or Latino, 25.5% African, 20% European, 13% Jewish, and 12.7% Asian. The average South American tourist would be Whiter than the average New American. Over a third of the population, 36%, would be foreign-born. Immigration law would not be enforced, and semi-official ID cards would be issued to anyone with a permanent address. As many as 800 languages would be spoken, and all government forms would look like they were printed at the University of Babel Press. Widely used non-English languages on government documents would include Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. Large tracts of the city would be mono- or plurality-ethnic enclaves, where a dominant ethnicity controls most local politics and economic life. Various job sectors would also have a strong ethnic affinities, which would serve to fuel further racism and stereotypes than would already exist in a diverse society, e.g. the Mexican contractor or kitchen worker, the Irish cop, the Jewish lawyer or banker, the South Asian cab driver. And the overseas Israeli community would have its own private neighborhood police forces and fleet of ambulances. New America would be a multi-racial and therefore a multi-racist society, making the White-on-Black narrative of racism incredibly obsolete and replacing it with exciting alternatives like Black-on-Jewish, Hispanic-on-Black, and Asian-on-Hispanic. Anyone remember the Crown Heights Riots? (And hey, if NYC let residents own guns it would have LA-style ‘roof Koreans’ too).

Schooling in New America would be dystopian (and mindboggling for race-deniers). Less than 40% of schoolchildren would pass government math and reading exams. In 2016, 38% of students in grades three through eight met state reading standards, while 36.4% of city kids passed math tests. Without looking it up you can probably figure out that those numbers are mostly the White and Asian population with some talented Afro-Latinos. One in ten schoolchildren would be Muslim, and schools would be closed on the Chinese Lunar New Year. There would be bitter disputes over education policy and the funding of public elementary schools versus charter schools. Due to outcome disparities, there would also be constant lobbying by non-Asian minorities to scrap the admissions tests used by higher-quality public high schools in lieu of non-academic heuristics and affirmative action, since the advanced schools skew heavily Asian and White. But hey, at least there would be some top-ranked colleges and universities that most local people couldn’t get into without affirmative action.

New America would be crowded. There would be 28,053 people per square mile, and in the economic center, 72,033 people per square mile. This would result in filth, traffic congestion, absurdly high housing costs, stress, and other quality of life issues associated having to live in cramped and overcrowded places. Privacy would be non-existent as people would live on top, below, and beside you, neighbors would pick through your trash and recycling, and you’d rely on a mass transit system that would not infrequently have mentally-ill and soiled homeless passengers riding with you. As the denizens of Manhattan (New York county) have the third highest cancer risk caused by airborne chemicals of all counties in the United States, New America’s heartland would also have higher cancer rates than most of Old America. STD infections would also increase—a 2012 study by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene found that 33 percent of city ZIP codes were in the top quintile for multiple sexually-transmitted diseases.

New America would have a starkly stratified income distribution. With a Gini coefficient of 0.6, Manhattan Island is on par with a third world country. A fourth of households would not have internet access. Luxury apartment towers would be built almost entirely for the purpose of foreign members of the global elite to use as a store of value, never taking up residence. Meanwhile almost 5% of the domiciled population would be millionaires. A fifth of the population would live below the poverty line, and plenty just barely above it. Median household income in the wealthiest areas would be nearly 0,000 while in the poorest it would be under ,000. That is not enough to pay market-rate rent, and many landlords would use the 40x rule—tenants need an annual income at least 40 times the monthly rent. The average one-bedroom apartment is 00 a month, so you’d need a lot of money to live without a roommate. New York’s 60,000 homeless, enough to fill an entire city neighborhood, would fill a New American city if scaled nationally.

New America would have substantial law enforcement challenges. There would massive controversy over monitoring Muslims even though they committed the deadliest terror attack in human history in the city. Crime would be a fact of life in a number of neighborhoods. Over 90% of those arrested for murder or shooting would be Hispanic or Black. It would be illegal for the police to profile these people. Speaking of the police, they would be heavily armed and frequently deployed in public spaces and at train stations. Your government trusts you, goyim. There would be frequent political demonstrations against the police, spearheaded by local socialist and communist groups. It would be widely felt by officers that the elected left-populist government was not supporting them, a truly absurdist thing for the government to signal given how important the thin blue line to New York.

New America would ignore the Second Amendment and have a de facto ban on self-defense. The right to bear arms would be all but abolished and only police officers, former police officers, and the rich and well-connected would be allowed to conceal-carry a gun. Various other self-defense weapons would be banned as well. The liberal ivory tower population would be staunchly anti-gun since they encounter few members of violent criminal populations in their midst. Everyone else would just hope today isn’t the day they become a victim.

New America would be a profoundly alienating experience, the platonic form of anomie. A while ago a friend of mine and I were discussing what it meant to be a New Yorker. We came to the conclusion that the only things that mattered were proximity and commuting. Were it not for the proximity, New Yorkers would have almost no shared identity with their fellow urbanites, and without the commuting, they would not even see them. There are few shared norms, and most people are either deeply engaged in their ethnic ingroup or isolated. Outside of their neighborhoods and workplaces (if they are lucky enough to work or live among their co-ethnics), citizens and non-citizens alike would be bombarded with a mass of foreign faces, races, languages, and behaviors on a daily basis. Two hours or more of each weekday may be spent commuting in silence with these people, which can only be mitigated by paying higher rent or working closer to home, and the latter probably means lower wages as most people live away from the business districts. Anything that might pass for a commons or public space would be smelly and filthy, occupied by a noticeably unpleasant amount of homeless people, have a heavy police presence, or possess any combination of these. All the great historical works of monumental masonry and architecture would be littered with bums, giving the impression that every day is the day after the Sack of Rome. People would bathe in fountains.

Thus in terms of public space, there would be little pleasantry or local escape for non-elite residents from the drudgery of work and the stress of urban life, while their wealthy counterparts would take frequent trips out of the area on weekends. New America would favor its cosmopolitan elites more than any other society perhaps in human history. For typical goyim, the options would be to shell out for an expensive night of drinking, dining, or entertainment, or to retreat to one’s (probably small) dwelling to consume take-out and watch television/Netflix. Such would be life under what one might call the Catlady Ascendancy, that Sex in the City lifestyle of nihilism.

Oh and when the whole country is New York, there will be nowhere to run. When you get sick of the city and want to start a family or live somewhere nicer or just have a house and car in the suburbs, you won’t be able to. Maybe instead of moving out to Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester, or Connecticut, people will move to West Virginia, Idaho, and New Hampshire to get away from all the new New Yorks. But how long will that last?

For the left the question is really not if they want this. It is how they are going to answer for it.

Diarrhea, also spelled diarrhoea, is the condition of having at least three loose or liquid bowel movements each day. It often lasts for a few days and can result in dehydration due to fluid loss. Signs of dehydration often begin with loss of the normal stretchiness of the skin and irritable behaviour. This can progress to decreased urination, loss of skin color, a fast heart rate, and a decrease in responsiveness as it becomes more severe. Loose but non-watery stools in babies who are breastfed, however, may be normal.[2]

The most common cause is an infection of the intestines due to either a virus, bacteria, or parasite; a condition known as gastroenteritis. These infections are often acquired from food or water that has been contaminated by stool, or directly from another person who is infected. It may be divided into three types: short duration watery diarrhea, short duration bloody diarrhea, and if it lasts for more than two weeks, persistent diarrhea. The short duration watery diarrhea may be due to an infection by cholera, although this is rare in the developed world. If blood is present it is also known as dysentery.[2] A number of non-infectious causes may also result in diarrhea, including hyperthyroidism, lactose intolerance, inflammatory bowel disease, a number of medications, and irritable bowel syndrome.[3] In most cases, stool cultures are not required to confirm the exact cause.[4]

Prevention of infectious diarrhea is by improved sanitation, clean drinking water, and hand washing with soap. Breastfeeding for at least six months is also recommended as is vaccination against rotavirus. Oral rehydration solution (ORS), which is clean water with modest amounts of salts and sugar, is the treatment of choice. Zinc tablets are also recommended.[2] These treatments have been estimated to have saved 50 million children in the past 25 years.[1] When people have diarrhea it is recommended that they continue to eat healthy food and babies continue to be breastfed.[2] If commercial ORS are not available, homemade solutions may be used.[5] In those with severe dehydration, intravenous fluids may be required.[2] Most cases; however, can be managed well with fluids by mouth.[6] Antibiotics, while rarely used, may be recommended in a few cases such as those who have bloody diarrhea and a high fever, those with severe diarrhea following travelling, and those who grow specific bacteria or parasites in their stool.[4] Loperamide may help decrease the number of bowel movements but is not recommended in those with severe disease.[4]

About 1.7 to 5 billion cases of diarrhea occur per year.[2][3][7] It is most common in developing countries, where young children get diarrhea on average three times a year.[2] Total deaths from diarrhea are estimated at 1.26 million in 2013 – down from 2.58 million in 1990.[8] In 2012, it was the second most common cause of deaths in children younger than five (0.76 million or 11%).[2][9] Frequent episodes of diarrhea are also a common cause of malnutrition and the most common cause in those younger than five years of age.[2] Other long term problems that can result include stunted growth and poor intellectual development.[9]

Diarrhea is defined by the World Health Organization as having three or more loose or liquid stools per day, or as having more stools than is normal for that person.[2]

Acute diarrhea is defined as an abnormally frequent discharge of semisolid or fluid fecal matter from the bowel, lasting less than 14 days, by World Gastroenterology Organization.[10]
Secretory

Secretory diarrhea means that there is an increase in the active secretion, or there is an inhibition of absorption. There is little to no structural damage. The most common cause of this type of diarrhea is a cholera toxin that stimulates the secretion of anions, especially chloride ions. Therefore, to maintain a charge balance in the gastrointestinal tract, sodium is carried with it, along with water. In this type of diarrhea intestinal fluid secretion is isotonic with plasma even during fasting.[11] It continues even when there is no oral food intake.
Osmotic

Osmotic diarrhea occurs when too much water is drawn into the bowels. If a person drinks solutions with excessive sugar or excessive salt, these can draw water from the body into the bowel and cause osmotic diarrhea.[12] Osmotic diarrhea can also be the result of maldigestion (e.g., pancreatic disease or Coeliac disease), in which the nutrients are left in the lumen to pull in water. Or it can be caused by osmotic laxatives (which work to alleviate constipation by drawing water into the bowels). In healthy individuals, too much magnesium or vitamin C or undigested lactose can produce osmotic diarrhea and distention of the bowel. A person who has lactose intolerance can have difficulty absorbing lactose after an extraordinarily high intake of dairy products. In persons who have fructose malabsorption, excess fructose intake can also cause diarrhea. High-fructose foods that also have a high glucose content are more absorbable and less likely to cause diarrhea. Sugar alcohols such as sorbitol (often found in sugar-free foods) are difficult for the body to absorb and, in large amounts, may lead to osmotic diarrhea.[11] In most of these cases, osmotic diarrhea stops when the offending agent (e.g. milk, sorbitol) is stopped.
Exudative

Exudative diarrhea occurs with the presence of blood and pus in the stool. This occurs with inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, and other severe infections such as E. coli or other forms of food poisoning.[11]
Inflammatory

Inflammatory diarrhea occurs when there is damage to the mucosal lining or brush border, which leads to a passive loss of protein-rich fluids and a decreased ability to absorb these lost fluids. Features of all three of the other types of diarrhea[clarification needed] can be found in this type of diarrhea. It can be caused by bacterial infections, viral infections, parasitic infections, or autoimmune problems such as inflammatory bowel diseases. It can also be caused by tuberculosis, colon cancer, and enteritis.[citation needed]
Dysentery

If there is blood visible in the stools, it is also known as dysentery. The blood is a trace of an invasion of bowel tissue. Dysentery is a symptom of, among others, Shigella, Entamoeba histolytica, and Salmonella.
Health effects

Diarrheal disease may have a negative impact on both physical fitness and mental development. "Early childhood malnutrition resulting from any cause reduces physical fitness and work productivity in adults,"[13] and diarrhea is a primary cause of childhood malnutrition.[14] Further, evidence suggests that diarrheal disease has significant impacts on mental development and health; it has been shown that, even when controlling for helminth infection and early breastfeeding, children who had experienced severe diarrhea had significantly lower scores on a series of tests of intelligence.[13][15]

Acute diarrhea is most commonly due to viral gastroenteritis with rotavirus, which accounts for 40% of cases in children under five.[1] (p. 17) In travelers however bacterial infections predominate.[16] Various toxins such as mushroom poisoning and drugs can also cause acute diarrhea.

Chronic diarrhea can be the part of the presentations of a number of chronic medical conditions affecting the intestine. Common causes include ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, microscopic colitis, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and bile acid malabsorption.
Infections
Main article: Infectious diarrhea

There are many causes of infectious diarrhea, which include viruses, bacteria and parasites.[17] Infectious diarrhea is frequently referred to as gastroenteritis.[18] Norovirus is the most common cause of viral diarrhea in adults,[19] but rotavirus is the most common cause in children under five years old.[20] Adenovirus types 40 and 41,[21] and astroviruses cause a significant number of infections.[22]

Campylobacter spp. are a common cause of bacterial diarrhea, but infections by Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and some strains of Escherichia coli are also a frequent cause.[23]

In the elderly, particularly those who have been treated with antibiotics for unrelated infections, a toxin produced by Clostridium difficile often causes severe diarrhea.[24]

Parasites, particularly protozoa (e.g., Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia spp., Entamoeba histolytica, Blastocystis spp., Cyclospora cayetanensis), are frequently the cause of diarrhea that involves chronic infection. The broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent nitazoxanide has shown efficacy against many diarrhea-causing parasites.[25]

Other infectious agents, such as parasites or bacterial toxins, may exacerbate symptoms.[16] In sanitary living conditions where there is ample food and a supply of clean water, an otherwise healthy person usually recovers from viral infections in a few days. However, for ill or malnourished individuals, diarrhea can lead to severe dehydration and can become life-threatening.[26]
Malabsorption
Main article: Malabsorption

Malabsorption is the inability to absorb food fully, mostly from disorders in the small bowel, but also due to maldigestion from diseases of the pancreas.

Causes include:

enzyme deficiencies or mucosal abnormality, as in food allergy and food intolerance, e.g. celiac disease (gluten intolerance), lactose intolerance (intolerance to milk sugar, common in non-Europeans), and fructose malabsorption.
pernicious anemia, or impaired bowel function due to the inability to absorb vitamin B12,
loss of pancreatic secretions, which may be due to cystic fibrosis or pancreatitis,
structural defects, like short bowel syndrome (surgically removed bowel) and radiation fibrosis, such as usually follows cancer treatment and other drugs, including agents used in chemotherapy; and
certain drugs, like orlistat, which inhibits the absorption of fat.

Inflammatory bowel disease

The two overlapping types here are of unknown origin:

Ulcerative colitis is marked by chronic bloody diarrhea and inflammation mostly affects the distal colon near the rectum.
Crohn's disease typically affects fairly well demarcated segments of bowel in the colon and often affects the end of the small bowel.

Irritable bowel syndrome
Main article: Irritable bowel syndrome

Another possible cause of diarrhea is irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which usually presents with abdominal discomfort relieved by defecation and unusual stool (diarrhea or constipation) for at least 3 days a week over the previous 3 months.[27] Symptoms of diarrhea-predominant IBS can be managed through a combination of dietary changes, soluble fiber supplements, and/or medications such as loperamide or codeine. About 30% of patients with diarrhea-predominant IBS have bile acid malabsorption diagnosed with an abnormal SeHCAT test.[28]
Other diseases

Diarrhea can be caused by other diseases and conditions, namely:

Chronic ethanol ingestion[29]
Ischemic bowel disease: This usually affects older people and can be due to blocked arteries.
Microscopic colitis, a type of inflammatory bowel disease where changes are only seen on histological examination of colonic biopsies.
Bile salt malabsorption (primary bile acid diarrhea) where excessive bile acids in the colon produce a secretory diarrhea.
Hormone-secreting tumors: some hormones (e.g., serotonin) can cause diarrhea if excreted in excess (usually from a tumor).
Chronic mild diarrhea in infants and toddlers may occur with no obvious cause and with no other ill effects; this condition is called toddler's diarrhea.
Environmental enteropathy
Radiation enteropathy following treatment for pelvic and abdominal cancers.

Causes
Sanitation
Poverty often leads to unhygienic living conditions, as in this community in the Indian Himalayas. Such conditions promote contraction of diarrheal diseases, as a result of poor sanitation and hygiene.

Open defecation is a leading cause of infectious diarrhea leading to death.[30]

Poverty is a good indicator of the rate of infectious diarrhea in a population. This association does not stem from poverty itself, but rather from the conditions under which impoverished people live. The absence of certain resources compromises the ability of the poor to defend themselves against infectious diarrhea. "Poverty is associated with poor housing, crowding, dirt floors, lack of access to clean water or to sanitary disposal of fecal waste (sanitation), cohabitation with domestic animals that may carry human pathogens, and a lack of refrigerated storage for food, all of which increase the frequency of diarrhea... Poverty also restricts the ability to provide age-appropriate, nutritionally balanced diets or to modify diets when diarrhea develops so as to mitigate and repair nutrient losses. The impact is exacerbated by the lack of adequate, available, and affordable medical care."[31]
Water

One of the most common causes of infectious diarrhea, is a lack of clean water. Often, improper fecal disposal leads to contamination of groundwater. This can lead to widespread infection among a population, especially in the absence of water filtration or purification. Human feces contains a variety of potentially harmful human pathogens.[32]
Nutrition

Proper nutrition is important for health and functioning, including the prevention of infectious diarrhea. It is especially important to young children who do not have a fully developed immune system. Zinc deficiency, a condition often found in children in developing countries can, even in mild cases, have a significant impact on the development and proper functioning of the human immune system.[33][34] Indeed, this relationship between zinc deficiency and reduced immune functioning corresponds with an increased severity of infectious diarrhea. Children who have lowered levels of zinc have a greater number of instances of diarrhea, severe diarrhea, and diarrhea associated with fever.[35] Similarly, vitamin A deficiency can cause an increase in the severity of diarrheal episodes. However, there is some discrepancy when it comes to the impact of vitamin A deficiency on the rate of disease. While some argue that a relationship does not exist between the rate of disease and vitamin A status,[36] others suggest an increase in the rate associated with deficiency.[37] Given that estimates suggest 127 million preschool children worldwide are vitamin A deficient, this population has the potential for increased risk of disease contraction.[38]
Pathophysiology
Evolution

According to two researchers, Nesse and Williams, diarrhea may function as an evolved expulsion defense mechanism. As a result, if it is stopped, there might be a delay in recovery.[39] They cite in support of this argument research published in 1973 that found that treating Shigella with the anti-diarrhea drug (Co-phenotrope, Lomotil) caused people to stay feverish twice as long as those not so treated. The researchers indeed themselves observed that: "Lomotil may be contraindicated in shigellosis. Diarrhea may represent a defense mechanism".[40]

Internet Trolls Are Narcissists, Psychopaths, and Sadists
Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.
In this month's issue of Personality and Individual Differences, a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: Internet trolls are horrible people.

Let's start by getting our definitions straight: An Internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, in fact, it seems like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.

What kind of person would do this? Some Canadian researchers decided to find out.

They conducted two online studies with over 1,200 people, giving personality tests to each subject along with a survey about their Internet commenting behavior. They were looking for evidence that linked trolling with the "Dark Tetrad" of personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism.

They found that Dark Tetrad scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity. To get an idea of how much more prevalent these traits were among Internet trolls, see this figure from the paper:

Look at how low the Dark Tetrad scores are for everyone except the trolls! Their scores for all four traits soar on the chart. The relationship between trolling and the Dark Tetrad is so significant that the authors write in their paper:

"... the associations between sadism and GAIT (Global Assessment of Internet Trolling) scores were so strong that it might be said that online trolls are prototypical everyday sadists." [emphasis added]

Trolls truly enjoy making you feel bad. To quote the authors once more (because this is a truly quotable article): "Both trolls and sadists feel sadistic glee at the distress of others. Sadists just want to have fun ... and the Internet is their playground!"

The next time you encounter a troll online, remember:

These trolls are some truly difficult people.
It is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them.
