"That so-called killer owes you his life!"
Not the first time those kids have heard that phrase.

TeenerTot - 2017-08-04 Sorry, I meant "That so-called lifer owes you his kill."

I remember watching this, either as filler on Captain Kangaroo (which I watched on a cross-border station, WCAX-3 from Burlington VT) or as filler during the commercial breaks on noon-hour '60s SPIDER-MAN cartoon reruns on CJOH-13 from Ottawa (though, and I know this is totally necessary and relevant information that's still completely interesting to anyone who grew up outside the 514 area code, I knew CJOH as channel 8 from the "repeater" transmitter in Alexandria, which could be picked up in west suburban Montreal).
However, for the longest time, I conflated my memories of watching THE UNDERSEA ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN NEMO with thinking I had watched the original uncut SEALAB 2020 even though I thought I remembered kids being major characters while kids were rarely anywhere to be seen on SEALAB 2021 (the comedy redub).

It doesn't matter how god-awful some kids show was, YT comments will be full of "THIS IS WHEN SHOWS WERE GOOD NOT LIKE THE CRAP ON NOW".

You should probably leave your exploding kids at home, guy.

This WAS really good, y'know? I remember in my young mind at the time, always correlating it as "Johnny Quest Under The Sea", it had the same cool, jazzy feel.
Also Dr. Oku was fucking hot.

I can remember watching this on "Captain Kangaroo."

I guess it goes without saying that girl is extra level creepy.
"We're approaching a potential life and death situation!"
"GIGGLE!"

tethercat - 2017-08-06 The episodes varied between joke-action and serious-action. They either ended with the cast sharing a Harvey Birdman-level pun-and-group-laugh, or just a dead-serious silence into black.
I remember one episode was all about something serious like the decimation of a whole species, and how serious it was, but then at the end they laughed it all off. It was the odd episode, and just a completely wrong thing to do.
Wish I could remember which one it was. I know it wasn't the one with the "kelp yourself" end pun.

A tag seems missing. It was the "Saturday Morning Cartoons" one, if I recall.
I'd also accept "missing an arm or eye", as per Rocket Robin Hood.
