This is the point at which America's love affair with guns ends, since everyone knew at least one teacher in high school who should never be given access to a firearm.
It's also the cowardly greedy politicians shifting responsibility and escalating the costs of the responsibility.
Rather than risk their political positions and wealth by trying to pass strong gun control measures, they want to shift the burden (and blame) of protecting students from a heavily armed attacker to the teachers and security guards.
I'm not surprised that americans are so fucking stupid as to not be universally outraged at the idea of trump and the NRA suggesting that teachers and rinky-dink school security guards should be expected to rush to their deaths against an attacker using military weapons with nothing but a handgun.
