In my early 20s one of my housemates (who was a sculptor) built an entire fingerboard skate park out of cardboard under his bed and would smoke weed and fingerboard under there when the weather was too bad for real skating.
I really feel like this is going to come across like an Evil Homer comment, but:
Fingerboards were actually popularized in the 50s and 60s, and still have a pretty huge subculture to this day. There are people who get paid to compete in fingerboard competitions.
