I got lucky when I played it - it randomly chooses your character's gender when you start for, like, one line of dialog, and flips it each time you restart. I got a woman and immediately imagined her as a takes-no-shit governess type.

Nail in the coffin of those Sherlock vs. Cthulhu games. It's amazing in its own right, but I'm also looking forward to seeing its effect on the adventure genre at large.
