Pyramonster at -1:32, hot dog torrents at -1:06...sweet merciful crap, Vincent Collins, whoever you are, you have some explaining to do. How did a government that produced this kind of LSD-fueled insanity become such a bunch of assholes?

Jesus Christ, I'm so glad I lived through no part of the seventies.

The 70's contribution to society? Blinking things...and I mean everything!
|
KnowFuture - 2008-05-25 That pretty much sums up the 70s visual aesthetic: why settle for a NON-blinking buffalo that isn't shooting a (also very blinky) rainbow out of its ass?

That's the America I want to live in. But how is this informational?

Once upon a time, the US Information Agency was pretty groovy. Sadly, the rest of the government went overboard in squashing this type of joy forever after. We miss you, Groovy US Information Agency.

I was a small child during the 80s, and 60s/70s stuff like this was still occasionally shown in school for whatever reason (in retrospect, I had a LOT of hippie teachers. I'm looking at you, Art teacher named "Art" who would take points off every time I drew a city-sized tank covered in guns running over buildings etc). It was enough to give me a sense that not only was the recent past a lot cooler, a weirdly gentler time with pretty girls rather than nasty broad-shouldered makeup-caked 80s chicks, but that the future/present was supposed to have people living on giant wheels in orbit.
When I was born Jimmy Carter was still President.
