AMERICAN DEATH CULT: Why has the Republican response to the pandemic been so mind-bogglingly disastrous?
From New York magazine, a history of Republican Anti-scientific doctrine. Fits right in here.

I mean this guy is difficult to listen to but it is kind of funny the way he rails about the system being against him, because I can kind of see it. Retailers and outlet stores do do that kind of shenanigans on discounts without getting the same kind of attention.

Guys who get off of drugs, and then get religion, and then get into conservative politics are a public menace, but at least they're sincere.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-08-21 (Sigh)
When you say that someone is a public menace, but also sincere, it only means that they believe their own bullshit. Ive known several people who gone from drugs to religion to conservative politics, and they really really do believe in their own bullshit. When you are full of bullshit, sincere belief in your own bullshit is not a redeeming quality, not at all.
|
exy - 2020-08-21 So, "Guys who get off of drugs, and then get religion, and then get into conservative politics are a public menace, but at least they believe their own bullshit," is what you were saying.
|
SolRo - 2020-08-22 The problem with sociopaths is that they can be very convincing liars and actors. Most of them can go from born again xtians to fervent believer politicians to a private island after embezzling millions, at the drop of a hat.
You'd have to ask a psychiatrist if that's sincere belief that shifts easily or just switching teams whenever convenient.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-08-23 >>>So, "Guys who get off of drugs, and then get religion, and then get into conservative politics are a public menace, but at least they believe their own bullshit," is what you were saying.
Yes, that's what I was saying. What the fuck, you guys?
Try to imagine a statement that begins with "He's a public menace, but at least..." that doesn't end ironically.
Now, I don't think Pillow Guy is necessarily a sociopath. He's more of a true believer. The difference is that he'll probably calm down after some time off the drugs... but there's no guarantee that he won't settle down into sociopathy.
|
SolRo - 2020-08-23 There’s also no guarantee that he isn’t already a sociopath putting on a convincing show
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-08-23 Jesus Christ, if you need so badly to judge this guy as evil instead of merely a looney, surely you don't need me for that, but isn't "public menace" not only the part that's empirically and logically provable, it's the part that matters?
I was going to ask why would anyone fake being a looney, but I guess that whatever he's doing, its sort of working for him.
AND YES, OF COURSE THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES. That's an obvious point thats hardly worth making.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-08-23 >>>I think you're just describing serial liars, manipulators and narcissists who learn to manipulate systems and people, as sincere.
Honestly, no, I'm describing guys who recently got off drugs and are still crazy, based on my experience with 12 step groups. Pillow Guy seems to match the type, and obviously I implied as much but I have no personal knowledge of Mike Lindel. But I definitely stand by my original statement about "guys who get off drugs and get religion and get into conservative politics".
I have about 20 years of hard drinking, and 20 years of 12 steps. Coincidentally, they're mostly the same 20 years.

CNN is equally to blame for giving this drooling pinhead any air time to begin with. Jeff Zucker should be sent straight to hell.
