Part Arabic! The part that doesn't have a scimitar or a camel!

We wore out that Ray Stevens music video tape. I'm partial to "Santa Claus is Watching You" and "Sittin' Up With the Dead" myself.

To his credit, he can, or could at one point, belt out a tune. And this particular number was originally recorded in 1962, back when there were however many novelty songs about people and cultures the artist didn't understand, and was separated from with a few thousand miles of ocean and forty dollars a minute for long distance.

But it was when he came out of obscurity and stepped in front of a green screen to say "I ain't payin' no 34 cents out of MY tax return for no health care, Obummer!" and then kept doubling down, that the party ended for me.

And it's probably a good thing, in retrospect, that this song wasn't re-recorded in 2002.
