This man is a billionaire.

If he wanted to ensure creatives have decent jobs, he could.

But he's too much of a capitalist.

It's not that he wouldn't make money. It's that he wouldn't make AS MUCH money.

I'm not going to watch anything made with AI that wasn't made by a small struggling person or team.

I don't think I was in danger of watching any new tyler perry joints, regardless.

The big problem with current AI is it's all stuff stolen from "small struggling persons or teams."

And all that stolen stuff gets sent to struggling impoverished people who make pennies an hour sorting through all the stolen stuff and applying tags to it so the AI knows what it's looking at.

Do not use AI to create anything and do not consume any content created by AI.

I think I'll keep doing what was already doing.

AI can very easily generate derivative, unoriginal, cliche content -- so naturally, it is a huge threat to Tyler Perry.

Do you know what AI is good for? Making fucked up shit that a human being would never make. I guess that's why Tyler Perry feels intimidated by it lol lol lol lol

AI delivers a good sales pitch but once you start to mess around with it you find out its particular limitations and strengths don't give it the magic power to replace people. People designed these systems, they trained them, they modify the algorithm based on what people are using it for, etc, so it's basically running on humans making human decisions anyway. They're hidden behind a high-tech curtain.

Tyler Perry is like, managing to hit the two worst credulous reactionary extremes to AI existing. You need to believe that AI can deliver on what the hype promises in order to believe it will actually replace humans. Not paying people because you think they'll be unnecessary is a real hubristic move and I don't understand how he thinks it will pay off, unless he actually sincerely believes Sora is going to be a useful tool and that people will buy the films he makes with it. He's replacing artists because he sincerely believes that AI will replace artists. Honestly... painting survived photography, hand-weaving survived the Jacquard loom, calligraphy survived the printing press. Putting faith in AI, either positive or negative, is fuckin' dumb, imho. Like this situation is 100% all natural organic human stupidity
