I'd wait until they show the robot solve it several times with different people randomizing the cube differently.

Given that there appear to be at least two other robots that can do the exact same thing and have virtually identical designs, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's pretty plausible.

You gotta give it up for Lego and the whole Mindstorms thing. There are some really neat creations out there. Plus they always had a great interactive website, even way back in the beginning. Most toy companies just reskin their product each year based on the hottest movie.
