Secret Messiah - 2009-04-26
Any people on Lake Street? That never happens. What's next--seedy businesses and hookers after 9?
Hooray local references

Secret Messiah - 2009-04-26 that was supposed to be angry people, by the way.

I hate the sense of entitlement people have over the dumbest of things. The customer is pretty much always wrong.

5 stars for the "used to be owned by the renounced heart transplant surgeon".

No, Tom Lyden.
The moral of the story is that all the money your parents paid to put you through journalism school was completely wasted.

There are black people in Minnesota?
Also, extra stars for the patronizing reporter on the scene.

Five extra stars for the guy with the Obama hat.

you do not MESS
with hungry people
Five stars for the girl who said she was going to get KFC. She sounded wonderfully indignant and didn't fall for the trap.

This Popeyes is basically run by racist chicken nazis. The inside and the drive through are plastered with home made signs about how they don't participate in any deals, no checks or debit cards, have your money ready, etc. The whole atmosphere is more prison cafeteria than chicken restaurant.

|
Chibisuke - 2009-04-27 No DEBIT cards? That's crazy!
|
pastorofmuppets - 2009-05-02 It wasn't that secured for a fast food joint in a bad neighborhood. I can think of a few places I've been to with bulletproof glass and teller drawers to stick the food through.
The really crazy thing is those are always the places with the best food.

let this be a lesson to people everywhere, do NOT try to take fried chicken away from black people. They may riot. How else will they feed their children?
"Thats alright we'll go to KFC!"

"The Jambalaya wasn't the only thing jumping at Popeye's on Lake Street - "
the crew are also throwing themselves off the roof for being associated with that pun

Nationally Advertised Specials are the most sacred documents of trust we still have in America.

I like when white people own media venues, it reminds me how much smartererer we are than those other races.

It's amazing to me how much more upset the people of Minnesota were than those in New York, like, they were ready to take up arms or something. In New York, for the most part, the people shrugged their shoulders, sighed, and moved on.
Or is the local news in Minnesota just trying much harder to be racist?

Jesus Christ it isn't even that good of a deal.
Part of me died when the customers started admitting they know their Popeyes doesn't take part in national specials and never has.
|
pastorofmuppets - 2009-05-02 Yeah that was some bizarro world logic. But you guys said LAST MONTH you don't do the specials! That means this month you have to!

pastorofmuppets - 2009-05-02
In the battle for introductory puns in Popeye news clips, "customers are crying fowl" beats "customers are clucking their disapproval" hands fucking down. Someone needs to go to Rochester and show those people what's up.

casualcollapse - 2020-08-12 That would have required an extra brain cell
