I like his pirouette as he throws the phone, or whatever it is

Desidiosus - 2010-03-14

He obviously had ballet training when he was younger.

I dont know how the bases-ball is played, can someone elaborate why it was a dumb question? Because the batter he was talking about was the opposite orientation (left/righthanded) of the pitcher?

Jellyneck - 2010-03-14

I'm not a sports guy, so someone can totally correct me here.

The question was "did you consider brett for miller with the bases loaded in the seventh?" which I am guessing refers to George Brett who was a superstar back in the day. The implication here is that perhaps they would have won the game had the coach put in their superstar instead of letting Miller go to bat. The coach says that miller started the game and played against left handed pitchers, and is not taking this shit anymore etc etc

Jellyneck - 2010-03-14

George Brett batted left and I think Miller batted right, but I'm not sure who the pitcher was.

Oh, and from wikipedia:

The effectiveness of left-handed specialists against left-handed batters is the result of a number of fairly well-defined factors. Since most pitchers are right-handed, left-handed batters naturally have fewer at-bats against, and therefore less experience with, left-handed pitchers. The pitch trajectory from a left-handed pitcher is also reversed and their pitches therefore tend to have a more sweeping effect across the plate, which is harder to hit than the traditional outside-in trajectory from right-handed pitchers. This inexperience and seeming difference in pitch trajectory poses a large problem for many left-handed hitters..

My relevant wikipedia trivia is "McRae played hardso hard, in fact, that the rule requiring a runner to slide into second base when breaking up a double play is still referred to as the Hal McRae Rule in honor of the man whose cross-body blocks into second base broke up a lot of double plays and second basemen at the same time." I'd try not to piss him off.

What the fuck has happened to this site

Have you exhausted every old piece of shit meme and viral video the internet has to offer to the point where you're going back and raiding old sports blooper reels for shit to post?

oogaBooga - 2010-03-14

Is it a dupe? Can you find it? No?

Then shut the fuck up and sit in the corner.

Lurchi - 2010-03-14

It must be pretty stressful being paid millions of dollars to direct adults at participation in a recreational activity, and then to be asked questions about the specific techniques.

Jellyneck - 2010-03-14

When I see people like this throw tantrums, I wonder if they even have fun at it anymore. How much would that suck, spend your whole life getting really good at a recreational activity and when you're at the top of your game you realize you're actually kinda miserable when you don't win.

Raggamuffin - 2010-03-14

Competitive people, you might be interested to know, tend to take losing pretty hard. He probably gets like this when he loses at monopoly too.

Rudy - 2010-03-15

I remember when this happened. Me and my friend spent the next few months yelling at each other for asking "those stupid fucking questions".
