Aw geez, man... Wouldn't you know it, not a looker in the bunch.

Also, why focus on calling out sexism among players when the entire video game industry is arguable the most sexist form of media that there is?
They don't have a problem playing as a scantily clad night-elf barbie with GGG breasts, BUT YOU BETTER NOT MAKE A PASS AT THEM.

I suppose I should say that I'm male before getting into this.
I used to identify as a "gamer" because it seemed like a succinct way of identifying that I play video games to people that don't, even though I buy about 2-3 games a year. However, someone once blew up at me for using the term (I think it was on here, and I think it was just because it was a pet peeve and they liked flying off the handle), and so I started paying more attention to how other people use the term and wow. It seems to have become this kind of gay-pride, fighting-against-bigotry-that-doesn't-exist-and-wouldn't-be-bigotr y-if-it-did mentality that other, imaginary people have. You don't see fans of movies calling themselves moviers or sports fans calling themselves footballies or whatever else. I have to wonder why some people who have this specific hobby feel such a need to be defiantly open about it.
"Gamer" is like the socially acceptable "Furry".
Really, though, it's just a marketing ploy to get video game players to peer pressure each other into buying 5 or 6 brand new games a month.
Like Magnesium mentioned, it is definitely marketing gone insane. It's similar in strain to the punk/hip hop/rock/whatever-music-genre fans being "true" fans because they listen to all of it and can tell what the "true" chunks of "good" music are. Except it is an entire medium.
I call myself a gamer, to mean I am pretty into video games. Not so much that I am a falsely persecuted class in society, which is what makes the term embarrassing to use now days. More so than when it was just embarrassing being an adult playing with things designed for children.
If you were a young boy in the 90s you were probably either "alternative" or "hip-hop." Unfortunately they were split pretty hard along class & race lines.
Games seem to do better, which is something.
If there isn't a 'first world problems' tag, then this video is reason enough to create it.
I don't think this video is very effective, but it's not about the experience of "gamers." It's about the experience of female gamers, and there is a particular kind of nastiness directed at them in online games. Really, it's crazy how often the presence of a woman in a Call of Duty match or a Halo match or whatever is met with "Make me a sandwich!" responses or vulgar sexual requests or what have you, so I think the concerns this video is trying (however ineffectively) to address are legit, and I don't think there's a parallel here to movies or sports or whatever.
Yeah, I get that, Skeleton. I just wanted to voice this idea, which is a bit besides the point.
Someone asking if you're a gamer is as pointlessly dumb as asking DO YOU LIKE MOVIES/MUSIC? Ditto with identifying yourself as so.

I don't ever use a headset so I don't know if people are chicks or dudes, I refer to everyone as a cockgobbling assfister equally.
I just hate how they tire of being treated differently as a girls, yet IRL they're like, "I'm a cute gamer girl! I'm nerdy and quirky."
Better yet, the uploader's username is SexyNerdGirlPresents. Hrm...
Attention AND indignation. Why settle for just one?

Stars for the bank advertisement style of direction, and YouTube, where the prevailing criticism is "love it or leave it" rather than "do you really think people who use 'faggot' as a pause-filler are going to take your message to heart?"
Also, guys, stop ruining this for everyone. You can't rub one out in a deathmatch and then TELL HER.
Oh yes you can.

I liked the video, but it went on a minute too long.
But infinite stars for you guys! :D

I play games to get away from all you people. I'm so glad I don't have to be annoyed by online gaming communities and can instead work on my flesh doll.

Watching this is as tedious as getting your blood elf hunter up to level 85. Or hearing anyone say "pwn," ironically or sincerely.

Are there actually women who feel this way? First world problems, indeed.

Sexual harassment online isn't a first world problem. It's a PROBLEM.
I want to harass them and I have tits. NOT TRANNY

Jeez, I got here just in time to see this at the bottom and miss the discussion. Here it is real quick;
These videos erode my soul, pope. Nothing makes me lose interest in gaming faster than other gamers.
Agree, I'm not talking about my Smuggler/Scoundrel with anyone.
