It would have been ironic if they had ever thrown the book at him.

...

I'm so sorry.

He's not blind in real life, so he'd probably get out of the way.

"N Words Vs 'Cracker': Which is Worse?"

hmmm
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-07-03
The racial studies philosopher Louis CK already covered this. Fast forward to 2:09 for the relevant line, or just enjoy the whole thing:

Exactly. Get back to me when whites have been enslaved, beaten, or lynched just for being white, you dumb resentful cracker.

TheOtherCapnS - 2013-07-03
Yea, apparently this clip is from a documentary, but I'd really like to see the rest of that segment. Because how is that even a discussion?

13.5 - 2013-07-03
Which is worse: "cracker" or the word we dare not even spell out partially?

If the graphics department is the judge...

lotsmoreorcs - 2013-07-03
his son is 30...requesting "black dont crack" tag
lotsmoreorcs - 2013-07-03
also the white guy blacking up his accent

baleen - 2013-07-03
Think that was pretty normal New Orleans accent there. New Orleans is one of those places where white people and black people have been getting married for a long time and they talk a lot like each other.

CJH - 2013-07-03
wow orcs, don't watch anything else with tim wise in it ever, cause i don't think you could handle it

memedumpster - 2013-07-03
Jesus Christ, Levar, why didn't you move your kid out of this stranglewhore country long ago? That's the only reason Americans want money, to get the fuck out of here.
misterbuns - 2013-07-03
A great way to prove to a skeptic that white privilege exists is to drive with a black guy in the car.
Hooker - 2013-07-03
Ends with a white man telling everyone about the life of black people.
misterbuns - 2013-07-03
That's not what happened at all.

It starts with a black guy talking about educating his son about how to handle cops being a black guy, and having to walk on eggshells and ends with the contrast of a white guy talking about how his mother never told him to worry about that. It was an example of white privilege that evidenced and furthered Burton's point.

This need to infer racism into everything is strange. It really seems that some people aren't after equality, they're after vengeance.

What should the white guy have said that would have assured you his soul was pure?

Hooker - 2013-07-03
I don't have a problem with the guy telling his story. It was an important contrast. I had a problem with him summing it all up after that.

I'm also not calling him, or anyone here, or anything they did, racist. I don't know where that came from.

simon666 - 2013-07-03
What the fuck is wrong summation?

Bort - 2015-07-03
White guy confirms that the black guys' story. That may help some audience members believe black guys aren't just making this up.

zerdzer - 2013-07-03
nice story

it's all pretty racist though

it would be better if we all stopped talking about race

what the fuck I clicked on "pike eats a duckling"

I'm European-American and I do the same thing. Some white bank robbers murdered a couple of cops at a traffic stop in the suburb I grew up in, and frankly I don't want to risk getting shot/tazed.

The only time I had an issue was when borrowing a car with a broken headlight immediately after Army basic training, when I instinctively went to parade rest, with hands behind my back, upon seeing an authority figure like the cop that stopped me. It made him nervous, and I learned a lesson. Keep your hands visible and move slowly around cops.
