I take solace in the fact that in a couple hundred years he will be back as a head-in-a-jar

OK, from what I understand:
Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner didn't get along during TOS, but became best friends during the movies. Everyone else got along with Nimoy pretty well, especially when he was directing, but they were not terribly close. The gang of 4 hated Shatner's guts (especially Doohan), which Shatner claims he didn't even realize until much later. And absolutely everybody loved Deforest Kelley with no problems at all.

TeenerTot - 2015-03-04 I heard Shatner's daughter(s?) attended, so the Shatner family was at least represented. Dunno if that makes it better or worse to the pants-pee-ers.

Bobonne - 2015-03-04 Assuming the prior commitment to the Red Cross is true, Nimoy wouldn't have minded, and nobody who respects him enough to really care shouldn't mind either.
Using someone worthy of respect and admiration as an excuse to sink to your basest desires RE: tearing someone down for not respecting them enough is like the opposite of what's right.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-05 The NY Daily News actually put Shatner missing Nimoy's funeral on the front page, calling him "Captain Jerk". Classy, right?
