I do not understand drifting.

Normal racing; the goal is get around the track as fast as possible, and everything stems from trying to fulfil that rubric better than your opponents.

Drifting.. In this doc it seems its scored, based on some complex and arcane gps motion tracking *and* subjective judge scores.
