Oh so that is what Phantom was... I was there working private security for the building where Infinium branch office in Seattle was raided and reposessed by the county sheriffs. I always wondered what bullcrap they were doing before that.

Accidie - 2018-07-28

think of how many awesome trollable patents they got out of this.

blue vein steel - 2018-07-28

enough to actually release the "Phantom"... as a wireless, laptop keyboard.

blue vein steel - 2018-07-28

and while this is vaporware and a classic pump and dump scheme, it took a decade for consoles became what the Phantom promised to be.

All these console startups (like the new Atari) all seem to lack what is common knowledge: that Microsoft/Sony build the hardware at a net loss. Revenue is driven by licensing.

In the future, everything will be a series of corridors, video screens, and big beat.

oh, so like the Steam Machine

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-07-30

You know I had forgotten all about Steam Machines and decided to look them back up just now. Apparently to date they've sold less than 500,000 of them, and every retailer carrying them ceased doing so within a year of release because of how poorly they were selling.

I kind of expected the project to be a failure from the moment it was announced but I didn't expect it to be THAT much of a failure.

WOW, reading the description alone was enough for a powerful blast of nostalgia. I remember hearing about this on and off for years it seems like, jeez.
