I don’t know what to say, last time I heard about this guy, he was in a medically induced coma in a Russian hospital.

jfcaron_ca - 2020-02-13

He managed to come out of the coma long enough to eulogize for a Canadian columnist who died yesterday, she was famous for racist, homophobic, and toxic man-up chauvinist columns.

'...adding her father had been taking the drug for years to treat anxiety brought on by a severe autoimmune reaction to food. Doctors increased his dosage last year to help him cope with stress after his wife, Tammy, was diagnosed with cancer.'

'In the past, Peterson said he was able to beat back depression with the meat-heavy diet his daughter encouraged him to adopt. Cutting out greens altogether improved both his mental and physical health, he said in a 2018 interview.'

I can't imagine what this autoimmune disease is.

William Burns - 2020-02-11

Kolonopin is used to treat panic disorders and seizures. This is some off-label Micheal Jackson shit. Whoever gave him benzos for his vegetable allergy (?) should lose their Drug Dealer's license.

Spike Jonez - 2020-02-11

Gee, I wonder why he's not feeling so good after no veggies for two years and taking benzos for feeling yucky

gmol - 2020-02-11

Something odd going on:

Maggot Brain - 2020-02-11

yeah, he don't look so good.

Old_Zircon - 2020-02-13

It was apple cider.

Two Jar Slave - 2020-02-11

According to pre-fame friends, Peterson has been struggling with major depression for his entire adult life.

ashtar. - 2020-02-11

He helped turn two of my former friends into literal nazis who are real into "ethnic solidarity" and trying to join the national guard for weapons training.

I hope he dies painfully and pathetically.

gmol - 2020-02-12

What? What in the world did he say to encourage that?

ashtar. - 2020-02-12

A bunch of bullshit about cultural bolshevism? Sorry, I mean "post-modern neo-marxism."

They were real into JP and then they were angry about Trump being too nice to (((Israel))). I don't think he's a Nazi, he's just full of shit (lol Jung), and he's a first step toward it.

gmol - 2020-02-12

Crazy people going to be into crazy. I seriously don't understand how you can blame JP for that. Everyone is full of shit. It does not follow that everyone is on the path to nazism because of that

Spike Jonez - 2020-02-12

gmol, you can look up the alt right pipeline instead of feigning shock.

ashtar. - 2020-02-12

Going from "post-modern neo-marxists are ruining the heritage of the West" to "cosmopolitan globalist bankers *wink* are destroying White Culture" is not a big leap.

The first seems kind of reasonable to mainstream people, especially coming from someone with apparent authority, and makes the second position seem a lot more acceptable.

gmol - 2020-02-12

I don't buy it. How do you know there is this 'pipeline' is real? Do you have testimony from someone that went in to it, came out the other side and realized that JP was what called them into it?

You may not like or agree with JP on many things, he's quite sensible when he talks. Most of what he says is uncontroversial mainstream psychology/sociology and the rest is some of his opinions stated in very careful language.

SolRo - 2020-02-13

Except for explicit racism, he espoused a lot of fascist and Nazi-adjacent ideology wrapped in overwrought vocabulary

Spike Jonez - 2020-02-13

Well learn about it before dismissing it, gmol.

Old_Zircon - 2020-02-13

Gmol, some firsthand testimony from a few different people. Some of it has been posted here before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhDkbReSp4w

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69obN625Fjs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfLa64_zLrU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWLvW3xEIQw

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfCMnBS_I28

These are just a few of the most well known ones.

gmol - 2020-02-13

I am not going through all those videos OZ. Your very first one merely mentions JP (at about 7:32 and it is not testimony by the caller, it is the host who just associates his name as well as Sam Harris'). The medium post is ridiculous. JP is because he makes sexist analogies (something I hear all the time from people who aren't JP)? it suggests that JP's diet preference is somehow evil (as if people don't have all sorts of weird dietary preferences).

I seriously doubt the claims of JP being some sort of gate way to the 'alt right', it really seems like a very silly idea that has come to have been taken as a true.

ashtar. - 2020-02-13

Your response to my literal first hand testimony (my roommate for 3 years went from being a normal person to a nazi and JP was a big step on that path, we talked about this a lot) and all the articles and links people have posted is just "pfft, that's not real."
That's just a dismissal, not any kind of actual engagement or argument.

gmol - 2020-02-13

Can you find me a video of someone like your room-mate who became 'alt right' and then was able to leave that group and then talk about how JP was either intensional and or causal in that experience?

ashtar. - 2020-02-13

Ok, homer.

Spike Jonez - 2020-02-14

Ah, so no sources are good enough for gmol and he won't look at them anyway. Nice chatting with you, you intellectually dishonest and generally disingenuous nazi symp.

gmol - 2020-02-14

I just spot checked one of the other videos and it is almost 50 minutes. It's absurd to suggest someone watch through hours of video to support a position in an internet thread.

gmol - 2020-02-14

I just skimmed through this one that is 10 min and I see no mention of JP in the video or in the comments:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfCMnBS_I28

This isn't an honest set of sources.

Spike Jonez - 2020-02-15

Yeah, too bad you were a lazy bitch and couldn't look up "alt right pipeline" because you so strongly believe it doesn't exist, you can't google it.

Braze - 2020-02-12

He sounds like one of the professor brothers

William Burns - 2020-02-12

Now he sounds like Baby Cakes.

BHWW - 2020-02-13

Medical professionals are highly susceptible to addiction because they are around medication and are trained to view it through a clinical eye and therefore develop a belief in their ability to control it. The fact that Peterson should have known better is perhaps the answer to why he didn't.
