Honestly? I think Prince killed the awesomeness. It was all going great with him riding a forty-niner onto the stage, and then he picks up the guitar and I started to feel embarassed for him - especially when he admits defeat and takes his shirt off.

This is... wow. Not Prince's best playing ever, but still. It's somewhat painful to watch Michael before he became a kid-diddling lunatic and think of what could have been if things were just a little different.

Prince doesn't suck, his artistry just lies in a different place than the other two. It's almost a different kind of medium.
And it comes out best when he isn't spontaneously called on stage by James Brown while riding a fat white guy's back and doing speedballs.
