The Taliban created the famine.

SolRo - 2022-03-24

If only the taliban hadn’t fought and all surrendered to the glorious and just mission of America to de-alquedaize Afghanistan none of this would be a problem!

Just like the Ukrainians.

Two Jar Slave - 2022-03-24

Ooo, now do 'banning girls from school'.

ashtar. - 2022-03-24

Oh come on Cena. Try and actually justify that take.

glasseye - 2022-03-24

Taliban bad and imperialism bad.

Multiple things can be bad at the same time.

SolRo - 2022-03-24

Imma say “starving girls to death” is worse than “banning girls from schools”.

That’s my controversial hot take!

Anywho, how about the west stops using collective punishment on civilians in the hopes of fomenting regime change and civil wars? If you want their mineral deposits so badly then send your poors’ children to commit war crimes and get blown up by IEDs until you rape the country enough that it falls in love with you as a coping mechanism.

casualcollapse - 2022-03-25

It seems all conservatives can do is name calling and trying to own the libs, it's fucking tiring

Cena_mark - 2022-03-25

Volodymyr Zelenskyy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ashraf Ghani

SolRo - 2022-03-25

You probably know about as much about both of them, plus the breathless praise of his brave hiding in a bunker while promising to sacrifice every other Ukrainian if that’s what it takes to win.

Cena_mark - 2022-03-26

You know nothing about Zelenskyy, because he's all about courage. He said, "I don't need evacuation I need ammunition." You wanted him to be a Ghani who famously said, "Get me outta here, the Taliban is coming. PLEASE FLY ME OUT!!!!" You re mad because you said it would be a slaughter, but Unkraine is turning the tide. They're showing the Russians and Putins as nothing but paper tigers.

SolRo - 2022-03-26

Oh, he made a speech. How brave. And probably manly too. Speaking is very manly.

If you think Ukraine hasn’t been a slaughter for both sides just because your “good guys” might win then you’re way too deep in the propaganda hole.

Cena_mark - 2022-03-26

He could have evacuated like that bitch ass Fha I, but he's stayed. You say the war is brutal and that just strengthens my argument. Sure he's not on the frontlines, but that's not a president's job. He's helluva slot closer to the action than Putin, Bush, or coward Ghani. Go hide in a cope cage

SolRo - 2022-03-26

Lol.

You make your delusional uptake of western/Ukrainian propaganda so obvious.

You ready to die in WW3 to defend a corrupt former actor who suddenly became the worlds most noble hero the instant a Russian tank crossed a line on a map?

Or you just another America armchair psycho safely cheering the death and suffering of people you don’t care about?

Cena_mark - 2022-03-26

What do you expect us to do, beg Ukraine to surrender?

SolRo - 2022-03-26

It’s too late for that too.

This will just grind on until both sides are too exhausted to care about walking away “winners”. The only thing that may change is western media outrages you idiots into starting world war 3 because you just can’t stand the sight of white people suffering.

Should have never armed Ukraine in the first place, and nato needs to stay the hell away from Russian borders. Tens of thousands dying because some dipshits in the CIA gotta keep expanding the hegemony.

Two Jar Slave - 2022-03-26

Mommy deserved to get kicked down the stairs for talking back to daddy.

You can spot the dictator apologists because literally nothing they say makes sense. Solro, you seem to scoff at the very idea of borders when it comes to Putin driving tanks over "a line on a map," then revere them when it's Putin turn to defend Big Strong Russia's imaginary lines by preemptively bombing shopping malls. These sorts of obvious double-standards would matter to someone arguing in good faith, but not to an authoritarian wet-dreamer barfing up sound bytes to justify a dictator's invasion of a sovereign state.

Interesting fact: Ukraine is not, in fact, Russia's border. It's its own country, with its own people, whose right to exist is being violently challenged while you play sucky-sucky with other cryptofascist dandies and splutter about both sides.

Cena_mark - 2022-03-26

Fave it, Ukraine is facing a far better income since they stood up to Russia. Russia wants the whole pie and may settle for nothing. You're a coward. You're hiding under Ghani's mother's skirt with Ghani. Zelensky isba badass heroband you hate it because cowards hate the courageous for making them feel insecure. You Putin pussy licker. Freedom isn't free. You're like the child of the French and Afghan Republic

SolRo - 2022-03-26

You could have saved time just smashing “PUTIN BOT LOL” if you wanted to tell us how fucking stupid you are.

SolRo - 2022-03-26

Jesus fuck how drunk are you cena?

Cena_mark - 2022-03-24

It was the Taliban who overthrew the Afghan government. It's the Taliban currently running the country to the ground.

SolRo - 2022-03-25

Oh I get it.

Yet another video you didn’t actually watch but know you’re right on the subject because Uncle Sam taught you that Americans are always right.

ashtar. - 2022-03-25

Applying that same logic, Zelensky is running Ukraine into the ground. I mean look at what a disaster his term has been! All the bombings and refugees! Bad president!

Like, a little effort. Just a smidge.

ashtar. - 2022-03-25

Sometimes I think about cosplaying as a liberal and arguing with Crackersmack or someone just to demonstrate to you all how bad you are at it.

Crackersmack - 2022-03-25

You'd be better at it than an actual shitlib. Shitlibs don't put any thought into politics, that's why they're shitlibs.

yogarfield - 2022-03-25

@ashtar

Politics on this site are hilarious to me, because there's a lot of very vocal members that have black and white takes, but also contradict themselves like it's a bad habit.

It's not too hard to grasp that both massive bilateral sanctions that have gutted their economy and the Taliban's authoritarian stance on issues like women working (who were in many cases the primary bread-winner of households) are working in tandem in this crisis.

Do we need to go back to why we got involved in Afghanistan? Spoiler: It wasn't Bin Laden. Not an apologist, but the Taliban offered to uproot Bin Laden from his al-Qaeda bed if given proof he was connected. Then they offered to send him to a third party country if the bombing stopped.

Bush refused and kept on warring, and America did nothing to clean up the stink and birthed a baby ISIL.

SolRo - 2022-03-25

My broad strokes understanding of bush doctrine was that he would transform the Middle East into a liberal Arabic Europe if he toppled enough regimes. The people were just itching for “freedom” and would welcome us as liberators!

ashtar. - 2022-03-26

"Both things are bad and we should reduce suffering" is a good general purpose take.

People's need to have romantic good guys and bad guys is a big problem.

I'm seeing a lot of advocacy for NATO military intervention in Ukraine from people I went to high school with on Facebook, and also in opinion columns in the local paper. I hope the deep state and military are at least generally in touch with reality enough to prevent a direct hot war between major nuclear powers.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-03-27

>>>"Both things are bad and we should reduce suffering" is a good general purpose take.

>>>People's need to have romantic good guys and bad guys is a big problem.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Lef - 2022-03-25

What about the Famine America/Europe/Ukraine/Russia are creating in the world?

This autumn risks being very grim, especially for the southern hemisphere.

Crab Mentality - 2022-03-25

What about it? Are you suggesting that Russia invaded Ukraine in order to deplete food stocks to get at Afghanistan?

Because if not, I have no idea what the hell you're asking or suggesting. It'll make an already existing problem worse, but it's certainly not the cause of it in the first place.

yogarfield - 2022-03-27

@crab

Probably a reference to Ukraine being the "Breadbasket of Europe". They do provide a significant portion of grain to the continent, but I can't remember it off my head. Most of the east of the country is where it's grown, and it's currently being tanked over and bloodied by Russian conscripts.
