So, not really so much a "prequel" as it is more of a remake of the film. Which is pretty scary in and of itself.
I think it was intended as a prequel for the film. But yes, it is far too similar to its live-action counterpart. I don't even think it's considered canonical at this point.
Does anyone really care about the Mortal Kombat canon?
I moderate a video game forum. I can tell you first hand that, yes, there are a few that do.
People who identify as hardcore gamers make me sad.
I don't think there was ever a time when that computer animation didn't look laughable.
I picked this up at a dollar tree a couple months back, I believe they had at least 30 copies.
