"There are a few restaurants still using the Showbiz Pizza Place name and animation. All are located outside the United States, and have no connection to the original company. Known locations are in Lebanon; Dubai, UAE; and Kuwait."

Idea for documentary.

Hm. Wikipedo says there's a couple of places here in the US that still have the Billy Bob/Rockafire robots in operation. One's in Alabama, one in West Virginia, and one in Staten Island.

I'm vaguely vaguely tempted to have my 30th birthday at the Showbiz in Alabama. I don't think they'd let me in the ball pit now, though.

how embarassing would it be to get killed by terrists while researching a children's robot pizza restaurant chain?

and all the irony in the world probably couldn't stop the sadness involved with having your 30th birthday party in the used up husk of a showbiz pizza place.

In some ways, it's less sad than dying at a strip club. And besides, you'd go out with a bang.

The dude playing the father is Aaron Fechter, the engineer behind all the Rock-afire Explosion animatronics. He's crazy/lovable on a POE Frontpage level.

He also played Billy Bob himself.

I remember being scared to bloody death of Fatz and their patriotic "Statue of Liberty" show.

Wasn't Showbiz from the same company that current runs the Chuck E. Cheese places, too?
