Smellvin They don't explicitly say it, but the guy's not only deaf but also retarded (~ 10 year old mental age).
The thing that struck me the most about this was that there's a person who's non-responsive in a bathroom stall. Do they assume he's having a stroke? Nope! They start pepper spraying him. The icing on the cake: the police who tazed him said that they were justified because the deaf guy had an umbrella with him -- which obviously could be a very dangerous weapon.
oddeye I don't understand why they used pepperspray under the door when he wouldn't respond. Where they trying to "smoke him out" like you might a rabbit or something?
I also don't understand how he can be held at the station without being arrested when all he did was sit on the toilet for a while.
Shit like this makes me just want to become a lawyer.
j lzrd / swift idiot Learning about learning how to be a lawyer will turn you off to the idea of learning to be a lawyer.
Dicknuts I just watched 3 roommates go through the Bar exam this week. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
UnderANeonHalo I don't even know what to say about this that doesn't involve me writing a freaking essay.
5 stars for handicapped guy and the huge civil suit he's going to get.
Sputum In the end, he will likely get a whole bunch of money, and even if he doesn't, he will always have his awesome name.
"Antonio Love"
Shit, even reading it off of the page makes me need a cigarette.
Ersatz No, they didn't even give him a meaningless but inescapable charge of disorderly conduct under the police code of, "if we have to come out there, someone's getting a charge."
