So is this movie worth watching?

Good question. In many was, the music is superior to RHPS, but the plot is even more slipshod, without any of the outright dirtiness of RHPS. But the satire is surprisingly sharp, and Richard, Pat (who I've always found sexy), Charles, and Nell (who I've always found VERY sexy), are back. Rik Mayall shows up, as well. Ryan makes a decent Brad, and I've always had a crush on Valerie, tho she's one of those women who looks better with clothes on. In the end, DEFINITELY get the soundtrack!

D'oh, I *MEANT* Jessica! I'm not the first to make that mistake!

It is very much worth watching.

The key error this film makes is the somewhat delusional thinking that we, as an audience, CARE about the further adventures of Brad and Janet.

However, the music and choreography is spot on. The set design is lovely. "It's okay!"

Oh, and Dame Edna's in it.

The guy who plays Dame Edna, not Dame Edna, but it would be more fun if it was.

I wasn't worthy seeing when it came out, but the world has moved on, it has enormous kitsch value, and scenes that range from charming to banal to jaw-dropping.

The world has moved on. It is definitely worth watching now.

I must have seen RHPS 7000 times, this I have never seen.

Must rectify that.

Seriously this was the worst thing ever made in 1985, but in 2009 it's goddamned genius. As Richard O'Brien says, "My works manage to make millions but only after they can no longer make me money."

As an old RHPS fanboy I was most jarred by the new Janet's handsome man-voice.
