That said good song, catchy as fuck and not a bad set of pipes on proto-hipster like chick Vega. Now that song luka, that blows hard, but i digress.

If there is any song that shoudn't be broken by MP3 compression, it's this one: this is the song that, back when they were developing MP3 compression, was hardest to get right. Once they could get Tom's Diner sounding proper under MP3, they knew they'd pretty much nailed the algorithm. So Suzanne Vega is occasionally called "The Mother of the MP3".

This song's lyrics are maddeningly pointless; it doesn't even distinguish itself as a snapshot of a typical morning. It's a song about nothing, which I suppose is appropriate, since Tom's Diner is also the diner from "Seinfeld".
