Picking on a brilliantly creative drummer for having a less-than-brilliant singing voice makes me really clever.
I thought this came off as more sympathetic to Ringo than anything else. Because John and Paul did kind of dismiss his songwriting, to the point that only two of his compositions ever made it on Beatles albums (the rest ended up in his solo stuff.)
One of the bigger Beatles was once asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world. He replied: "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles."
I mean it's true but ouchie.

Ringo was actually perfectly content with having one or two songs per album.
