Syd Midnight When they dub the Simpsons they don't pretend they're from that country, they're still in Springfield, USA. Pop culture jokes may be tough to translate, but the "stupid fat American" jokes become a lot funnier.

Syd Midnight I think it's better in German though for very different reasons. The punchline becomes "Americans are amazingly stupid" instead of "LOL Nazis and Hitler", plus the pun gets funnier.
