Seems like they just assumed everyone knew it was dubbed, and didn't bother changing the joke at all.

When they dub the Simpsons they don't pretend they're from that country, they're still in Springfield, USA. Pop culture jokes may be tough to translate, but the "stupid fat American" jokes become a lot funnier.

Watching The Simpsons in German is a way to inject life back into the franchise.
Unfortunately we'll never see a German version of "Das ist nicht ein boobie!"

I think it's better in German though for very different reasons. The punchline becomes "Americans are amazingly stupid" instead of "LOL Nazis and Hitler", plus the pun gets funnier.
