Also, this is a pretty rad speech. I was like "Yeah Man, I like what you're saying man".

I was too distracted by the grumpy goomba behind him to pay attention.

God that's scarier than anything any Bible Belt Republican has ever threatened would happen to us.

Seriously though, I hate Bloomberg a lot of the time but I really like him sometimes. When he tried to ban all cars in Manhattan I thought he was pretty amazing, then he goes about telling old people who can't afford their gas bills to wear sweaters. He's an enigma.

He's rich and subconsciously identifies with the wealthy, but genuinely wants to improve the city and see it prosper.

I think that's more or less the issue.

Sometimes, his biases work out. Here, he's willing to take a stand in the face of some vocal public opposition because fuck the hoi polloi, this is the right thing to do.

Other times, not so much. Manhattan became or continued to be a great city for the wealthy ones who could afford to live there.

He's basically the Unsinkable Molly Brown. He has a lot of money, a lot of influence, and common sense, but he might as well have been living in a sod hut on the prairie for the last few decades, because his opinions have absolutely no basis in his decisions.

What exactly is so enigmatic about a person who believes in limited government intervention?

Cat_Mech - 2010-08-09
This one has a full set of teeth, a job, and doesn't hate brown people. That's pretty enigmatic.

Kumquatxop - 2010-08-08
And during the speech fat teabaggers are yelling at their TV screens, probably never even having been to New York

The YouTube comments are, once again, a cesspool.
