Comatose2 That rule only applies to the unprepared. What he's attempting to demonstrate (for slow learners such as yourself) is that you should have your weapon drawn at all times, and wave it around spastically at anyone within 21 feet of you so that they are not easily able to disarm you.
That said, the behind-the-back technique is just asking for a self inflicted GSW to the spleen.
