Honestly, Michigan is just horrible.
phalsebob - 2011-04-20
EMERGENCY! GOLF COURSE THREATENED!

KnowFuture - 2011-04-20
I now have a three-word answer for any teabagger argument re: govt "tyranny".
CharlesSmith - 2011-04-20
Any time someone says "Now I have an argument to use against tea parties!" is in for major disappointment.

KnowFuture - 2011-04-20
Nah. I don't want an argument with those idiots. I just want something to throw at them then run away.

Toenails - 2011-04-20
Near Chicago you say? Say no more, obviously Bedrock Who-sane No-Bammy had his muddy Kenyan hands in this.

At least that's where I stopped listening to the story because I'm a dumb shit racist idealizing a group of vandals dressed up to frame the local Native Americans.

P.S. Somebody who was listening to this with me rationalized this away because Obama and the Democrats are just as bad when they took over healthcare.

P.S.S. He rather I use the word "passionalized" instead of "rationalized".

Two word answer for the Teabaggers: "Medicare vouchers". Benton Harbor won't matter to them because black people.

Night Train to Mundo Fine - 2011-04-21
Toenails: Nobody in their right mind in colonial Boston would have thought that the Tea Party guys were Native Americans. It was largely symbolic. Images of Native Americans were used as a symbol of the New World in general.

Also the leaders of the actual Boston Tea Party guys would have hated everything the Teabaggers stand for.

Holy shit.
Mother_Puncher - 2011-04-20
I don't think the town even went looking for pirate treasure to stop the golf course.

This is the one ^

Ursa_minor - 2011-04-20
Take 'em. Can't compete with this one.

memedumpster - 2011-04-20
Can we now say that Republicans are officially anti-American traitors? Fucking hell.
MacGyver Style Bomb - 2011-04-20
Waiting to see if this kind of thing is pulled on a poor rural white community. Wonder if the Teabaggers will still support them then.
FABIO - 2011-04-20
First they came for the public beaches, and I said nothing.

Then they came for my trailer park, and there was nowhere left to play golf =(

charmlessman - 2011-04-20
It's like the Republicans have cast themselves as the villain in an Ernest movie.
By that logic, a lanky goofball and a bunch of kids should be saving the day any minute now.

I'm whippin' up a batch of Eggs Erroneous.

simon666 - 2011-04-20
I'd like to see the local government continue working, collecting taxes as much as possible etc. Then force the governor to call in the national guard to counter this.

That would be my strategy at least... force the state gov to come off as dictatorial and authoritarian.

To quote the Dead Kennedys: "If you want a banana republic so bad, why you don't go move to one?"
pastorofmuppets - 2011-04-21
What's going to happen when these towns realize that, absent continued funding from the state, that they're not in any way beholden to Snyder or his band of merry men?
pastorofmuppets - 2011-04-21
also, this comment on the Maddow blog (and others in many places) say that this isn't the cut-and-dried land grab she's implying

FABIO - 2011-04-21
Funding from the state is a pretty big deal...

pastorofmuppets - 2011-04-21
I meant, they're starving these towns off anyway. I guess they're not doing it completely, though.

FABIO - 2011-04-21
Are they? Do you really have the numbers on that?

It's not a Twisted Sister video where they can just blast the rock music and blow the mean Governor out the window.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-04-22
I can't wait to hear them try to justify this for the jobs it'll provide the locals as caddies, maids, and dishwashers.
