I don't know what minecraft is, but why would anyone play a game that looks straight out of Starfox for N64,
Mancakes - 2011-08-29
Did you recently have a major brain injury?

fatatty - 2011-08-29
If you worked a little more on the first part of your sentence, the second part of the sentence might not be necessary.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2011-08-29
Sorry I meant SNES, not N64. And from what I just read, the object of this game appears to be building things so that you can then walk around in the terrible graphics you just put together.

Burnov - 2011-08-29
Starfox for the N64?

More like just Starfox.

Still, Minecraft was an interesting novelty for a while, especially if you played it with a group of people online.

Eventually Notch ruined it by throttling the chunk creation rate of the landscape by constraining it to the framerate.

This basically means that long sprawling vistas were heavily occluded as the landscape slowly and methodically "popped" into existence.

Fuck you Notch.

Plus Notch removed Herobrine. That bastard.

What happened to you, Minecraft? You used to be cool.

So that they can upload videos of them building non-existent stuff that took them excessive amounts of time.

If I had a son, I'd rather have him creating crappy looking maps in Minecraft than playing WoW or Call of Duty. I'd do my best to graduate him to Doom and Quake mapping like any good father would, but anything that encourages creativity is a good thing.

Don't even tempt me into talking about CoD, its pretty much the NASCAR of first person shooters.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2011-08-29
CoD has cinema and action and things that go boom. This game has various sizes of boxes to stack around in new and innovative ways that will never matter to anyone.

kwash - 2011-08-29
HA! Shows how much you know!

Most of the boxes are the same size.

TheDevilsDictionary - 2011-08-29
Of course your score in that last CoD round will matter to a whole bunch of people.

EvilHomer - 2011-08-30

P.S. Battlefield 3.

Minecraft is basically a 3D pixel art program. If you can't see how it can be used as a stepping stone to more advanced forms or art, then you're probably better off wasting your time in a shitty WW2 killing simulation.
THA SUGAH RAIN - 2011-08-30
If you can't see how activision and treyarch have already reached the more advanced form of 3d animation, maybe you are better off moving boxes around a screen.

Spoonybard - 2011-08-30
The point is that a typical CoD player isn't building anything with those tools.
