The sad thing is I'm pretty sure I've seen this. They played the English version as early-morning filler on Nickelodeon back in the day, I think.

Or maybe I'm thinking of the Tom Sawyer anime?

Funny you should mention the Tom Sawyer anime. I was flipping channels at my friend's house the other day and it was actually on some channel I've never heard of, like many of Dish Network's channels.

It probably is the Tom Sawyer anime you're thinking of though, since, as far as I can tell, this has ironically never been dubbed into English.

oh and the look on her human face as she's dreaming of this just makes me think they're going to place her in the same nuthouse as Dorothy in Return to Oz. ENOUGH OF YOUR CRAZY IMAGINATION

Nice edit. This animation may be shoddy but 70's anime sort of has a charm due to its cuteness and the fact that spikey hair hadn't been invented yet.

I'm not sure how this is better. They turned Laura into a chubby toddler with Pippi Longstockings' hair.

At least the Anne of Green Gables anime had Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's Moving Castle, Arrietty, Spirted Away, ect.) working on it.

Laura enjoyed her nightcap of hemp tea with a splash of laudanum and never let the habit spiral out of control.

Unfortunately, Albert was much less responsible with his morphine usage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNYjXsbYykk
