Riskbreaker Believe it or not, Top Cat is huge in latin america, i mean HUGE. It's a cult show and it has been that way for decades. This is an Argentina-Mexico-UK production.
baleen Wiki says it's one of the top grossing films in Mexico, ever. I find this really difficult to wrap my head around.
Riskbreaker Seems that the mix of the latin american dub using local slang, and the love for characters that are "from the streets" is what gave the appeal to LA audiences.
Bored That's like Swedes and Donald Duck comics. It seemed every Swede I met had a secret stash of Donald Duck comics in a box in a closet.
Xenagama Warrior Princess Or China and Garfield: Tail of Two Kitties. Still baffles me why it became the highest grossing film in that entire country.
dementomstie That is one of the weirdest styles of animation I've ever seen. I kind of like it, but I'd find it really distracting the entire time I watched it.
Riskbreaker Basically it's the 2D characters over the 3D backgrounds. They don't blend as well as they could.
snothouse This works a million times better than say, the Yogi Bear movie.
Taking an iconic 2-D character and then re-designing them with realistic fur, dilating irises, etc always baffles me.
