Yes, yes, you've somehow turned Halloween into a competition wherein you try to make the mundane decorative aspects of the holiday into something EXTREME AND DEEPLY DESCRIPTIVE OF YOU AS A HUMAN BEING, when 20 years ago, adults who got too into Halloween were a fringe group at best.
So thank you for ruining an expression of simple joy, and turning it, like everything else in our culture, into the substitution of your essential humanity for a materialistic concept of individuality as Facebook Novelty, the greatest irony of choosing Halloween to do it being that Halloween is in and of itself a moment of pondering death and decay and the inevitability of it all. But hey, all praise to the eternal present slideshow of your life. You've won Halloween.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-10-30 No. It isn't.
My genetic predisposition toward Puritanism is sometimes filtered out through a nasty hatred of anybody having any fun whatsoever. I'd apologize but I know I'm not sorry, but I'm at least capable of acknowledging it as a flaw.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-10-30 Overblown, whiny cynicism takes no effort and still lets people think they're smart.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-30 Also, for those who feel nostalgic for the simple, innocent joy of an earlier time, here's a clip from the 1976 Paul Lynde Halloween special, with Margaret Hamilton and Kiss.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-10-30 I'm starting to wonder if Clement Greenberg was right. And then I realize that having that thought means I'm instantaneously wrong.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-10-30 "Kitsch, using for raw material the debased and academicized simulacra of genuine culture, welcomes and cultivates this insensibility. It is the source of its profits. Kitsch is mechanical and operates by formulas. Kitsch is vicarious experience and faked sensations. Kitsch changes according to style, but remains always the same. Kitsch is the epitome of all that is spurious in the life of our times. Kitsch pretends to demand nothing of its customers except their money -- not even their time."

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-31 Oh, come on, people! Complaining about how Halloween has gotten all kitschy? Seriously?

cognitivedissonance - 2012-10-31 If you can hear my prayers, Lord, send a teenage hooligan to smash it.

kingofthenothing - 2012-11-01 I don't know you but I think you're crazy, you should get back on your meds maybe?
We're all fertilizer sooner or later. Everything you've ever done or will do will eventually be forgotten. Even the Universe won't last forever. If you can't take it upon yourself to enjoy one of your few, special, very finite moments now and then, then for the sake of mercy don't piss on the people who do. You're not getting any achievement points for life, none of us are, and even if we were there's no way to redeem them once we're gone.

I was going to make fun of their bad playing, but they seemed to have made it to level 11.
I want to see someone try and play this when the pumpkin has rotted up a bit.
