Just watching this clip, it'd be easy to think you're seeing a dying franchise that's on it's last legs.

Yet this was made six years ago. Six. Years ago. Between then and now, The Simpsons has had a longer run than Breaking Bad. Think about that. From the time THIS travesty was filmed, to the time it got posted here on poeTV, this show not only continued to churn out new episodes, but actually managed to churn out more episodes than most other shows do over the course of their entire creative lifetimes.

And there's still no end in sight.

(I probably shouldn't admit this, but I liked Spider Pig)

Eh, I was shocked this wasn't from 1990, when the "On Ice" things were kinda big and the Simpsons branched out into all sorts of terrible places

Simpsons is an American staple. Its like how Peanuts is still in print The Simpsons past success has made it so that they'll survive no matter how bad it gets. I still watch it here and there Its gotten a little bit better, but damn it they need to stop turning their celebrity cameos in to celebrity ass kiss fests.

Can you recommend any new episodes? I'd like to see what they're doing, just for old times sake, but I really don't want my memories soured any more than they already have been. They don't have to be GOOD episodes, just watchable, y'know?

The last episode I tried watching was the one where Lisa goes to a pretentious art camp run by two hipsters I never heard of, and I still feel cold and violated every time I think about it.

The only reason the simpsons still exists is because it's animated, which means that the budget is incredibly low because all the animation is outsourced to South Korea (thus ensuring a far greater cost-of-production-to-advertising-revenue ratio than a live action show), and the actors can keep playing the same characters, no matter how old they get. If it were live action, it would have died sometime in the mid 90's, I think.

Bwahaha. Oh man. And to think that the Simpsons made fun of the "on ice" versions of things several times in their run. I pity anyone involved with this.

Truly a smattering of applause.
