Your understanding of Calvinism is slim to nil, I see. I think what you're intending to mention is Puritanism, which is certainly a form of Calvinism, but not a Calvinism Calvin himself would have agreed with. And the thing about Puritanism is that it is an ideal quite often espoused but historically almost entirely non-existent in practice, replaced with varying shades of authoritarianism, Western tribalism and Luddism.
