Shit, you get old and you can't even cuss someone and have it bother 'em. Everything you do is either worthless or sadly amusing.

mashedtater - 2013-07-09

i dunno! i think she just didnt want to say all the same bullshit about love and acceptance.

she just wanted to talk about some dicks.

Very considerate of her family willing to accommodate her needs. Hope the reporter finds it in his heart to grant that nice grandma a wish.

I know a woman who recently turned 100. She's the oldest person I've ever known personally. She's not this lively.

Evidently it's pretty common for very old ladies to get unusually obsessed with sex. And not just normal sex but weird sex.

kingarthur - 2013-07-10

I don't know how to handle that information.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-07-10

Oh, let granny have her fun.

My great-grandmother got to 96, and she wouldn't stop talking about candy. She'd talk about candy that didn't even exist, that had stopped being made 50 years ago. She'd get a bag of jelly beans and obsessively separate them out by color, put them in little tea cups, and suck on them for hours. She did this endlessly, with other color-mixed candies like M&Ms and Jolly Ranchers. She could not abide mixed colors.

We have no idea why this became her hobby, but I was in the room when she died, and she described Heaven as "New Orleans, but everything glows and is clean", so that is what I assume Heaven is like.

That would be a really nice version of heaven. My grandmother passed at 84 and had some painkiller induced dementia where she alternately thought they were still hiding her brother from the blackshirts or trying to keep her neighbor's kids safe from the bombing of Rome peppered with moments of her trademark hilarious wit and war stories. I miss her. My favorite part of her being in the hospice is when my uncle arranged for a priest to deliver her Last Rites and she looked at me during it, winked, and rolled her eyes. Love.
