This is part of a series of videos sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gates. They're all basically the same information, but I prefer Bill Nye.
So I was about...seven years old, watched Bill Nye The Science Guy every morning, loved it. So one day the home experiment was to thread the tines of two forks together, and then balance them on the head of a tooth-pick place in the top of a salt shaker.
Bill recommended getting a parent to help with this operation so I pestered my mom until she decided to help out; she wove the tips together on the perpendicular, then drew the forks open and... they slipped apart, two tines from the left-hand fork drove themselves under the nail of her right-hand thumb and peeled it completely back. A hospital trip ensued, pills were dispensed, polysporin was applied.
I felt like the biggest piece of shit for two weeks after that.
Still love Bill Nye though.
How does your mom feel about him?
I was more of a Beakman fan when i was a kid, but I've grown to appreciate Bill Nye as an adult.
I'm sorry, but I can't hear anything Bill Nye has to say without humming the "Bill Nye the Science Guy" theme song in my head. Also, does this guy age?
bac: It's like a Pavlovian response. Say Bill Nye and she'll cringe and shudder a bit.
Yeah all the cool kids like me watched Beakman's Wolrd. Learneds alot from funny talking mouse.
upon wikipediaing him in a "what's he up to now" moment, his last career highlight reads "He also attended a furry convention called Megaplex as a guest of honor in Orlando, FL in 2010."
Tie THAT in a bow, Nye!
Nobody's going down the Beakman's World road with ya, buddy. I guess we're not cool kids.

Sweet merciful christ do people really think 25% of the united states budget goes towards foreign aid? I mean enough that Bill Nye needs to address it in a video? I think I've seen bullshit like that in youtube comments...ohhhh.
