I tried pretty hard to find a grindcore cover of Fish Heads but failed.

I did learn, unsurprisingly, that people who cover Fish Heads on Youtube are insufferable.

All this time I thought it was a Frank Zappa song for some reason. Save for a really good (but hard to find) cover of Birthday Boy by Elliott Smith, Ween covers are equally insufferable.

Oh nm it's not hard to find anymore. A related video is Balsac from Gwar doing the same song. It's.. beautiful.

Even at his worst, Zappa was miles better than Barnes and Barnes at their best. But I've got a chip on my shoulder about them because they ruined those last three Wild Man Fisher albums.

I'm about 75% sure that I watched a Frank Zappa concert with my dad (a huge Zappa fan) when I was a kid and he covered this song, or maybe it was one of his kids, who were performing too, but it could be scrambled egg memories from all the Dr. Demento shows we'd go and see together.

I realized I hadn't even watched the video yet. I like how into it the band is. I know some people who make Yoga/meditation soundscapes and stuff to pay the bills while working on their main projects; I guess I never thought that there'd be the same thing for buttmetal, or whatever this genre is.

My favorite thing about Barnes and Barnes is that one of the Barneses is Bill Mumy, of Lost in Space and Babylon 5 fame.

Oh and this video's pretty good too I guess.

I see someone else was going through the same related videos from Liquid Detergent Waste Grind.

The one where they drop a piano into a shredder is truly a work of art.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-06-09

Industrial shredder week? Please say yes.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

I like how there are at least two major competing industrial shredder channels: JWC and SSI. They seem to be mirroring each other to a large degree, as for example the following:

I think overall I like JWC better. SSI blatantly copies Will It Blend and their attitude is a bit too in-your-face, whereas JWC seems to have more of its own voice.
