StanleyPain - 2016-05-19 The video is massively fake, obviously (doesn't even look like Kubrick in 99) , but the whole obsession with trying to prove that Kubrick was somehow involved with faking the moon landings originates with the mockumentary that was produced for British TV (I cannot remember the name and google is not helping) that claimed to be an investigation into the faked moon landings, but was actually meant as a very dry joke about how no one ever digs into the sources or origins of shitty pseudoscientific documentaries and just takes them at their word.
The filmmakers persuaded Kubrick's wife and his long time friend/producer Jan Harlan to play along with the joke and record interviews in which they imply they knew Kubrick helped film the faked footage.
StanleyPain - 2016-05-19 Oh..I am *not* referring to Operation Avalanche which is another mockumentary coming out this year about people trying to re-create Kubrick's methods for faking the moon landing. This one is much older.
BHWW - 2016-05-20 Stanley Kubrick was so dedicated to making the faked moon landing look authentic and match his artistic vision they ended up actually going ahead and filming on the moon anyways. Armstrong did not care for some of the ways Kubrick attempted to manipulate the astronauts and the Mission Control personnel but had to admit the man's methods did produce the desired results.
