He has a background in special effects and design so if you ever make anything creative ever you should listen - he's said that he wanted to have a distinct look from the get-go. It's good advice - it's not special snowflakery if you don't act like that - no matter how big you do or don't become, it's good to have at least one 'unique identifier'.
