Jesus.... Stay strong baby, we're all hopin' for you.
baleen - 2016-07-02
Holy shit, I'm so sorry.
Are you saying you have stage 4 cancer here?
fedex - 2016-07-02
aww KA, I am so srry man...
EvilHomer - 2016-07-02
How is the money situation? Did you get any good news regarding the disability, or will poe have to organize a KingArthur Benefit Event?
I believe I can pull a fiver too.
I'm in. I would like him or someone in his family to start the funding page though.
There is one started by my brother: www.gofund.me/Arthurbaker
Yes, I have stage 4 cancer and I am terminal - the doctors give me 10 to 16 months at this point but we're going to get another CR scan and see if I'm improving next week.
I'm surviving off water, Powerade, and Popsicles because I can't eat solid food without pain. I ate solid food as a fuck you to this shit the other day and have been paying for it since.
The ulcers in the throat are the worst because you constantly choke on them and then vomit.
God fucking dammit. That is awful. Awful.
I just watched my sister waste away and die from cancer last week, so all I can say is fight man, fight!
Sent you a little donation. Try to do something fun with it when you're feeling good.

Oh yeah, I hadn't heard of this but it makes sense. Chemotherapy causes cell death and mucous membranes are rapid-turnover cells that enter the death program easily.
You can try turmeric gargles, it might help. The science on it looks okay and it's cheap and easy.
Fuck off. If yo don't know anything about this stuff, don't provide advice. There is no evidence that tumeric gargles to anything for anything asshole.
Results aren't too bad actually

Without even bothering to click on these links I can tell you do not know what curcumin is, what dosing means or what constitutes clinical evidence. I strongly advise you to consider your expertise about basic biology, chemistry and medicine before you go about giving idiotic advice to suffering cancer patients. Go fuck yourself.
lol being a condescending, self-righteous asshole on the internet is definitely helping make your case
My friend, there isn't a hint of self righteousness here. You felt compelled to dole out some dangerous, life threatening advice that is based on misinformation. You deserved every bit of admonition I gave you and more.
I don't know how old you are, what your educational background is or what opportunities have been available to you but I implore you to acknowledge that you don't yet understand the basics of statistics, biology, chemistry and medicine. Do your best to learn them, but do not give out advice until you gain a critical understanding.
Yeah I don't really want to fight here and I'll cool it too.
Also I think I get the problem. I wasn't saying anything about treating cancer with turmeric or not going through with chemo or anything like that. That would be insane. I was just saying that there are some studies that suggested that turmeric can help with mucosis. I linked to the studies. That is all!

Kids, I will pull this thing over right now. You be nice to each other. Let your brother have his curcumin gargles and gmol I'll give you some money for the New England Journal of Medicine when we get to the gas station.
If you want snacks, we have some carrot sticks, and you don't have to shove each other, I saw that! Now when we get to your Uncle Arthur's house, be sure and smile and tell him you love him. I want you on your best behavior. You know I heard there are some wild pumas in the area that would love to gobble up a pair of posters that can't get along. Oh, yeah. Did I not mention that?
Good. Now I'll give you your ipods back but only if you get along. And no dirty looks, I saw that, mister.
I've got a mouth wash and gargle called Mabex that involves lanacane. It does nothing to heal this shit, just numbs you up like a topical novacane.

This may be the most depressing video ever posted to poetv.
Cold comfort as it may be, it is an achievement, my friend.
sadly, I can tell you the one you post 24-48 hours before you bite it will be far more depressing

That looks extremely painful. I'm so sorry you're going through this.
cognitivedissonance - 2016-07-02
I'm terrible at expressing love, but you're awesome.
Hooker - 2016-07-02
I can't think of anything to say other than this is terrible and I feel a profound level of sympathy for you, kingarthur.
bawbag - 2016-07-02
I'm sorry man, I wish I had good advice or something that could help. I hope they are at least doping you heavily, that's all that got me through my time in the cancer ward.
RedRust - 2016-07-02
Kingarthur, I hope you have a prescription for "magic mouthwash". Have your MD write it up, and the pharmacist will concoct it.
If that's Mabex, then yes they already did it. I just don't see it helping much more than as a painkiller.
Yup, that sounds like the med... :/

Thanks for keeping us posted. Hope that you're still strong enough to get some consolation out of the knowledge that you're scaring the shit out of us. Well, me anyway.
Binro the Heretic - 2016-07-02
I hope the treatment does some good and I hate that it caused you to go through this on top of what you were already dealing with.
SJWFeels - 2016-07-02
Thanks for the update. If you feel comfortable discussing -- how are you feeling? Are there good days and bad days?
There are what I call chemo days where you can barely move or you're extremely sick in the stomach and vomit and shit everywhere. Until the mucositis, there were good days. I just get tired real easy.
Shoebox Joe - 2016-07-03
I have no clue what you are going through.
No, literally. I'm only going by your description and the general subjects in the responses.
I wish you everything good in this situation. Even if that means just resting for a day between the days you're capable.
I honestly want to link to a song on this, but I'm just not sure if it'd be too much for you or the poesters.
badideasinaction - 2016-07-03
Jesus... Stay strong as best you can dude...
Xenocide - 2016-07-03
Man, fuck cancer.
yeah. fuck cancer.
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-07-03
I just want to say something publicly here, which is kingarthur has been one of the most lovely, supportive, caring, empathetic, kind people I've ever come across online. He cares so much about humanity and he's gotten so shit on by life it's ridiculous.
Arthur, I love you. You are my brother under God and i pray for you. I want you to have as much happiness as possible before you depart this world. You have been so amazingly brave about all this, and you are facing your mortality with a strength I can't imagine.
All my love to you and may you find humor and joy in others for all of your life, however long that is.
Thanks man. Mostly I just have to find the humor in my body breaking down.
DavidNurtureGromit - 2016-07-03
I've (quietly) been active on this site for years and during that time you have brought me much joy. I send you positive energy.
gmol - 2016-07-03
KA has made me realize I haven't had enough sympathy for those who have gone through this.
Lef - 2016-07-03
Good luck. I've seen enough friends and relatives go through this. It's different for everyone. Do what you must and god speed either side of the equation. Hat's off for your struggle.
Fuck the stars. We are the stars.
