It has been for decades now, and it hasn’t been an issue.
Maybe when there are multiple large nationalistic colonies off world with international conflicts happening there might be a need for some kind of space marines or whatever but right now it’s just spy satellites.
I hope and expect there won't be much of B. We've had 4 years of spite, sabotaging America's health care, its leadership position in climate and Pacific trade and peace with Iran and Cuba, all for no better reason than they had Obama's name on it. Time to move on from spite.
As for A, I think some kind of review by the JCS is more in order. I'm not an a deep expert on the Defense Department like SolRo is, so I'm not qualified to say whether it's a useful next step or not; though I do note in passing we've already had "Space Command" for 35 years, just without as cool a logo.
The Bible is actually filled with warriors that fight with God's blessing. It's like a football team where prayer actually works. God always chose a side, the Jews were the chosen people, and the sky wizards were really more of a fail-safe than anything.
Somehow god was always on the winning side, not even one story of how god was helping a side but it lost because god had to step away to answer the door
Around the time I joined the USCG, the Coast Guard was trying to have their members referred to as Guardians. I guess the Commandant didn't like the term "Coasties". In 2006 there was The Guardian starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher as USCG Aviation Survival Technicians. Early in my career they just stopped pushing the term. It may have been the new Commandant, or just that people didn't like it. In my opinion, it sounded pompous.
